Okay, since I do not speak Spanish, I need some help finding out what song I heard on the radio tonight, broadcasting out of New York City. The singer sounded like Celia Cruz and began slow. I made out the following words in the song: Teresa, infirma, hospital, and, I think I heard the name Simone. The song began slowly without a salsa rhythm, then led into a moderately paced salsa rhythm. I am not certain it was the Queen of Salsa singing, but it sounded like her. I might want to use the number for a dance performance piece. If anyone has any clue at all as to what song this might be, please let me know. I will follow up on any clues. Thank you so much!

Isn`t there a Ruben Blades version of that song?
I always thought the title was "Simone"

Hmmmm... I've seen it as Simon as well...
Could the version with Ruben Blades, you refer to be Pedro Navaja?
Simon/El Gran Varon is about the guy how turns out like "Mr. Jackson" (a girl in his older age), then dies alone in a hospital years after his father rejects who he is.
Pedro Navaja is about the Corner-Killer, he who kills with steal steal dies with steal...
