The "self serving" following as it's called here; see this a lot in WCS from the more advanced followers and it's quite all right if it's not done to such an extent that I just can't lead anything plus WCS does to some extent encourage playfulness on the ladies part.

I think the same is true in Modern Jive, and my experience of close-hold blues is that its listening to each other so it becomes collaborative.
