Hello DF people :D I would just like to know if someone could help me out by tellin me the name of this song I heard. you can hear it by going here, http://www.clubmayan.com/ and then clicking on enter site---2004 world salsa competition---professionals then click on the 2nd place couple. I would really appreciate it if you could tell me the name and artist.

The singer is Cheo Feliciano, the name of the song I don't know it, but would guess, La Rumba Sabrosa, Now don't take my word on the name of the song because I don't really know it. But I guess La Rumba, la Rumba Sabrosa, or Rumba Sabrosa... something along those lines.

Please don't hang me if I'm wrong, my speakers stink. I'm not sure what band he is singing for there, or if under his own, which he really never had one...

Are we talking about the same song ? From the path you mentioned, I can hear "Welcome to Party" (Har You Percussion Group).

My 2 cents.

Wazymollo, that's the one that Maria Martinez and Francisco Heredia are dancing to. Good groove on that one. Good drum line. :)

You're right, Boriken. It's the one that Melissa Fernandez and Christian Oviedo are dancing to. I can't find that song anywhere but I hear Cheo Feliciano too. I like it, I like it. :D

I think Wazymollo is right about the song because I just found it on emusic.com and that made my day :D Although there might be other versions of this song out there the one Wazymollo suggested by Har-You Percussion Group sounds just like the one used in the performance. Thx to all who made the effort to help out though, you guys r great :D :D

Yep, you've clicked on the 2nd couple in the left column, not the 2nd PLACE couple, in the right column (just did the same thing myself)

Wazzymollo is right, it is Welcome 2 the party, by the Har You Percussion group.

Many different versions out there, but that is the original version.

Har-You stands for Harlem Youth, a program originated in the 60's. Part of this program got set on recruiting young musicians along the streets of harlem, and get them to form a band. Featuring a fantastic raw mix of funky bass, heavy drums, burning horn lines and soulful vocals, they quite simply formed one of the great Latin funk bands all-time.
They came up with "Welcome 2 the Party" in just one afternoon, and the rest is history.

Last time I checked, incomes frome their album was still donated to the program, so if you like that song, just by the album, it is worth every penny and you'll be helping people ;)
