Has anyone here seen "Born Romantic", a British film directed by David Kane? I haven't, but I hear the story is set in the London salsa scene...
This comment has caught my attention:
David Kane's follow-up to his sleeper hit This Year's Love owes its existence to actress Jennifer Ehle. During the making of that film, she dragged Kane along to a salsa class and, to the jiving sounds of Celia Cruz, the late Tito Puente and their Cuban and Colombian companeros, Kane came up with Born Romantic.

Jennifer Ehle, of course, is best known for her role as Elizabeth Bennet in the BBC's hit costume drama "Pride and Prejudice". I had no idea she danced salsa...

It was on BBC1 last night! As a "dance movie", no good. BUT, as a comedy it was very good - I liked it. It is indeed set in London and I only recognised one, possibly two people from the London scene in the club scenes
For some strange reason, the one cab driver in the movie, who seemed to be picking up all the other characters as passengers, kept passing by King's Cross  for those who don't know London/King's Cross, King's Cross is the 'red-light' district (seedier side of Central London) :? I wonder if the director was indirectly trying to convey something about salsa

I taped it, just to see the dancing, as the others said, it's not a dance film. Recognised a few faces those. I miss the Loughborough hotel
