I tend to agree.....getting hooked on TV (& not able to tape the shows :x ) means there's actually a choice to be made when it comes time to go dancing  ...........
That might be a difficult choice if the TV could dance.

Where I come from   if someone says they are "not waiting up", it means they are going to sleep. If they are going to read or meditate, give themselves a pedicure, they say that. :?

Did a little cooking, emailing, catching up on web news, working on my new pc, listening to salsastream, Spanish review, CD browsing and bought a few. Found what could be an interesting CD of Indian tunes reworked with latin beat. Quite a few of the Indian dance videos that I have see have some latin like moves, so I'm curious to see what it will be like. I guess I will know wehn I get the CD. :)

Naps are, actually, acceptable. The embarrasment came from actually needing one to go out salsa dancing. Maybe when I was younger I could have made do without the naps, but not anymore...

Tomorrow I have to make couscous with mixed nuts and dried fruits, spinach (just cooked in butter and olive oil), and yams (just roasted and mashed with butter and a hit of orange juice). Oh yeah, and date pudding and banana bread pudding. My dad-in-law is going to smoke a turkey, we're rubbing it with a mixture of cinnamon, coriander, salt, cumin, and fennel first. No stuffing, since the turkey is smoked.

SD are you up early or to bed late? I woke up and have to try to get back to sleep. It was a night where things were kind of going bad externally yet I still managed to do pretty well and have a good time. I was doing the eye contact as in the thread here (http://www.dance-forums.com/viewtopic.php?t=6385) I posted on this. So in one way the night was exciting and envigorating as I made some progress on a few personal goals but around me were not the greatest circumstances so my mind is in a whirlwind right now. Okay!! I was supposed to study Spanish and it already is 12:50 am EST over here. I threw out plastic bags, then started stringing up lights and found that I probably should return teh ones that I brought as I have yards and yards of red lights already. Cooked some chicken for tomorrow, plus an omlett!! Oh, now I must cook some greens and clean some pots. Oh. yes I found a traveling alarm clock that used to belong to my Godmother, dad's sister, and a harmonica that used to belong to my Godfather, mother's brother...
20 hours to go until I dance to my favorite band!!

Methinks thou doth exagerate a wee bit my friend? Holy sacrilege? Hardly! All I've ever said is that a post doesn't count as an "official" IRU log-in unless A) it is past midnight, or B) you are responding to someone for whom it is past midnight. The observant observer, however, will notice that I never said that one could only make official posts in the IRU!

2:48am For the first time in a while I feel relaxed. I mean really relaxed!! Just good all over. A feeling of friendly embracing welcoming warmth suffused through my entire being. Of being there and being aware, of being up in the sky...here and there...far and close...of wonder and grace... Just to ahve one night a week of this heavenly bliss.

2:00 am. I am a tired little Scorpio. Brush, floss, crawl in bed...maybe go to to Salsa tomorrow. Hate driving at night in the rain to a club with no women. If I wait until Thursday its half the distance and half the crowd...blah...Salsa sucks in my area. :?
Yes Vince, I am still going to try WCS. Next year! Wait...that's in a few weeks...hmm...well that works then.

I am one sleep deprived man right now...
Was up until past 4 am last night (this morning rather), and 3 am most of this past week. I have new neighbors that I think may actually be a travelling troupe of tap dancing elephants. Maybe tonight they will grant me some respite...but I just bought a ton of ear plugs that should help... :o
Suffice to say I will be moving out very soon! :x :?

1:34am here... just got back from another night of salsa. Started *really* slowly and I thought it was going to be a dud and that I'd head home early. Man, what a great night it turned out to be! :D
There were some salseras visiting from Baltimore who were a blast. I went to get a cup of water after I'd danced with one of them and she came over to ask where I'd learned to dance. Danced with anotrher stranger who actually " "yelled" after we finished our dance! ...and she did it again when she walked by me later! First time trhat's ever happened to me, that's for sure!
One of my favorite local partners came in towards then end so we got in a couple and there was another woman I don't remember evcer having seen or danced with before who was just a pure pleasure to dance with! Soft but totally responsive following... she also had the best beaming smile almost the whole time we were dancing (about four or five songs spread across a few hours),. Man, what a joy! :P

12:48 am EST. My most frustrating night ever!! I have decided that if I don't get to dance at the Sunday milongas I leave. It doesn't matter when or how long I have been there. I cannot stand it!! THe music got a grip on me and there wasn't anyone to dance with.
Oh, well...an early night pour moi!!

I hear ya Sagitta. I went out to our local Salsa night this evening just because I was bored (the one that was my old romping grounds). Same bad music, same crowd of people who think they are great dancers (but most of them are not). 20 guys, 10 women...BLAH!
Didn't dance once...but hey at least it was better than sitting at home. But next Sunday I'm going to a big Salsa event...so I'll save my dancing for then.
Besides, I pulled a leg muscle the other day and I shouldn't be dancing...but like that has ever stopped me.
Sagitta

Actually SG sitting at home is better for me. When I go to dance and the music grips me I dance or go home. Simple.
