The 6 year old cut up and loved cutting up teh raw skinless boneless chicken breast, so much so that she wanted to do it tomorrow and wanted me to buy twice the amount of chicken. Roll ths trips in my spicy bread crumb mixture and fry. Yummy. :)

I thought players were about using the women at the expense of the women types. Use them, throw them out. Now if everyone's just having a good time, not in it for the ego trip (male or female), I guess that would be fine. I thought being a player was a bad thing.

Or is this another idea I have to throw out? I'll probably come back with another thread saying something like "I can't believe women actually want me to be a player!"

When a page is filled up somehow a fictitious next page is created but with nothing on it. So if someone tries to view this next page or if someone clicks on the last post of a page a "No topics exist" or "No posts exist for this topic" sign comes up. So we go around making an extra post so the next page does have a post on it. Maybe someone else could explain it better. It's only this thread.

Checking in: If you're up late you make a post saying what time it is. It's the late night club, so to speak. And I guess we all feel cool being up late. 8)

There's a place about a five-minute walk from where we live that has 24-hour pizza delivery. I'm expecting it to arrive in the next ten minutes.

We also have delivery Thai, Japanese (cooked), Sushi, Chinese, Italian (non-pizza), and Indian. But these all only go until 11pm.

I wish the Vietnamese place down the street delivered. They make these amazing barbequed pork sandwiches on a french baguette with mayo, butter, lettuce, sliced cucumbers, sliced jalapenos, shredded carrots, and fresh cilantro. I call them barbeque crack sandwiches because they're completely addictive.

Yeah. I've read about that as well. 8) :)

I was just joking with africana, btw. I do wake up once in the middle of the night most nights to go to the bathroom. But I rarely have "constant waking." I actually don't consider myself a real insomniac, to be honest. I go to bed fairly early, wake consistently after about four to six hours sleep, stay awake for three to thirty minutes, go back sleep and wake feeling *******ed. *shrug* Works for me. 8)

I've been through a pretty bad period of insomnia, when I was under a lot of stress. Medicines, caffeine, alcohol can cause insomnia. Environmental factors such as noise, light, and room temperature can disturb your sleep as well. And illnesses or hormonal fluctation can ruin a night's sleep, as well.

It's amazing that any of us sleep at all, isn't it? :?

Being terrible at geography, I did not realize that BC Canada was vancouver.

I was in Vancouver during the 2001 Bus strike for a few days. I really liked Vancouver. Saw some great shakespeare. Biked around for a bit. Although I would have been able to see more if the busses were running!!

not to worry, i'm seriously geographically challenged as well!! P.S. There's a Vancouver in Seattle as well - i didn't know that until i was :google: something about vancouver !!

Hmm, the 2001 bus strike - i still vaguely recall the incident, i remember the drivers dropped off bunch of students outside the campus - and to walk from the outer rim to the classroom takes at least 30 min!! Are you planning on visiting vancouver any time soon??

Yes, that counts. The "rules" (not that anyone really follows the) are that IRU posts should be made either: 1) after 12:00am, or 2) in response to someone else posting in the IRU who is posting past 12:00am in their local time zone.

Are you planning on visiting vancouver any time soon??

Not likely.

In 2001, I was pretty much fed up with everything, so I got on my motorcycle in NYC and headed west. I was heading up the PCH, and someone mentioned I should go to Vancouver. So I did for a few days.

The thing I remember most was the shakespeare that I saw.
http://www.bardonthebeach.org/
It is in a tent. For the second act, they dropped the back wall of the tent, and the backdrop become the view over the water. When I saw Baz Luhrman's(sp?) arch remind me of that.

Too lazy to look up spelling at this hour!

Tonight, I'm up listing ebay stuff. I mentioned it somewhere else, and I forget where now, but I have qualified (enough points, nothing special, really) to go to the Paso Fino Grand Nationals (it sounds much more woohoo than it is) next month (Exactly a month from now we'll be there).

While we're there, J found (he did his OWN "hey, let's look up Ballroom Stuff in that area" search  ) a swing, foxtrot, salsa, and I think.. wait, what did he say.. I think tango? Yeah, maybe tango class to visit. It's at Atlanta Dance.

As I'm shamelessly plugging all of the stuff I have for sale- I'll excercise discretion, but still add "if anyone needs nearly any kind of ugly jewelry and size 14+ dresses, please let me know". I'm so pathetic, I know.

3:00 am.

Got that warm, fuzzy, loved feeling.

Ickis was lying down in the pasture already when I went out to check on them. When I sat down next to him, he flopped his head right over in my lap and started snoring.

While I was petting him, I heard a thump next to me, and then, sure enough, there was Zumi's head. Both were out like little sleepy lambikinses.

When Zumi's alseep, he's always dreaming of running or going down the fino board (long wooden strip horses traverse so judges can hear the quality of their gait- some can really send chills up your spine). You can tell the difference by of course the footfall sequence, but also by the "determination" on his face. His eyes might be closed, but his neck will be arched, his ears flicking, his teeth grinding in concentration. You can even hear and feel his heartbeat if you put your ear down on his chest.

Ickis, though, he's always licking my hands and fingers, and butting his nose. He'll even hold my thumb in his mouth and not bite it. He makes little "colt" noises.

It's enough to make anyone cry when they watch Spirit or Black Stallion the next time

Nighty night. A good ending to a bad day. Loved by ponies.

Take a look at the book, "The Promotable Woman," when you get a chance, lynn. By something-something Carr-Ruffino, IIRC. I can't remember her first name. That book's been around a long time. It talks about some ridiculous stuff. But it also gives some very good advice about managing and succeeding in the workplace, slanted toward women. (Although most of the advice is good for everybody, IMO.)

I read it back in the first printing (in the mid-eighties, I think :? ) Since then, it's been updated and reissued a couple times. But it's still good reading for someone especially at the beginning of her career, IMO. 8)

I have to get up early to pick up my gowns from post office.. They were delivered today, but nobody was home... I have to pick them up before work because the post office closes at 5:00

lynn
09-07-2005, 01:43 AM
i guess it's by USPS......if it's UPS you can always get them to re-deliver to your office. Is it the white one with the floral print?? Are you going to be taking any pictures??

Katarzyna
09-07-2005, 01:46 AM
it's the yellowish one with floral print and the red one.. not sure about photos, I think I will just wait for a comp to take photos :)

yes its usps... They can re deliver at home, but nobody will be here during the week anyway.. I always wonder who gets those USPS packages.. it seems like everyone is working during the day, and that's why you have 30 minute wait at the post office...

lynn
09-07-2005, 01:48 AM
i agree - but it's a lot better than them just dropping off the package at your front door. I really hate lining up @ the post office, it always takes forever..... i guess that's why private carriers are so expensive - they're known for their service!

Katarzyna

At least I am picking up something exciting :) can't wait to try them on

lynn
09-07-2005, 01:50 AM
did you just buy it off the internet?? how do you know about the sizing and the length??

Katarzyna
09-07-2005, 01:53 AM
I bought all my dresses from internet. (except for the Chrisanne one and another pink choice dress I got from someone at my studio and sold a while ago ) I just discuss measurements etc.. in worst case if it doesn't work too well , I can re sell. I like getting them from internet from other countries.. That ensures that they have not been worn in the US :)

lynn
09-07-2005, 01:55 AM
"worn in the us"?? i thought when you buy them new, they ARE new!

P.S. I thought you can't post to this thread any more?? I was getting a "no post exists for this topic" msg.

Katarzyna
09-07-2005, 01:56 AM
I got some new ones, I got some sponsored dresses worn by sponsored couples 2-3 times.. depends..

Katarzyna
09-07-2005, 01:58 AM
btw, I am getting the same message, that the post doesn't exist. perhaps the thread is getting too large...

lynn
09-07-2005, 01:59 AM
do new dresses depreciate fast?? ie, after you worn it once or twice, do they still retain, say, 90% of their value??

Katarzyna
09-07-2005, 02:02 AM
Also depends... My biggest lost so far has been my chrisanne gown (never buying chrisanne again)... Sponsored dresses seem to be the best option. They are cheaper than new ones, but are in perfect condition... and you can resale them with only slight loss... (unless you get something like my blue one which was really expensive)...

lynn
09-07-2005, 02:05 AM
all your dresses are really beautiful!! honestly, i've seen some pretty horrific gown choices!! Standard/smooth are generally better than latin..... some of the latin dresses are just....i don't know....strange???

Katarzyna
09-07-2005, 02:08 AM
I spend a lot of time researching dresses before I buy.. ( and I mean A LOT OF TIME) I have a dress fetish... and I know what I like :)

There are really horrible dresses out there.. don't know why people make them .. Dress should enhance the dancing and ones appearance...

lynn
09-07-2005, 02:09 AM
i guess the point is that if you can get the judges (and audiences) to focus on the dress, maybe it'll draw attention away from your flawed footwork  ??!!
Just curious, does that ever work??
