Diagnosis on your foot? :?
And yeah. I'm up early -- I got up around 4:30. Making a cheese tray for a spread at work. Since I had no idea how long it would take me, I got up early. Too early. Maybe I should head back to bed and try to take a power nap for a half hour or so.

Yum. Leftover cheese. Thanks goodness somebody else ate all the Swiss. I can't stand the stuff. But the cheddar and pepperjack? Super yum!
I didn't try any really fancy cheeses, since I was looking for middle-of-the-road, common cheeses that everybody eats. But it went over well. :)

Hi salsachinita! Just passing along a tip that I found works for me....if I have problems getting in to the thread (I usually click on the "last page" link), I can usually get in by clicking on the thread name - which takes me to the first page and then I can click on the "last page" link while I'm in the thread.
For some reason, at least for me, it allows me to get in that way when I can't the other way. Wow, don't you love computers? No guarantees that it works for everybody though!

Just got back from a party, it was very nice, sat and talked to some dance friends who I don't see in person as often as I'd like.
I have a dance lesson in less than 12 hours, I should really go to sleep but I'm not that sleepy. I'm peeved at myself because I got a speeding ticket on the way to the party and that's going to cost me some bucks plus traffic school.
Fascination, I'm sorry to hear about your troubles. My dad, too, is a prostate cancer survivor. He's been doing well (cancer free since 2003), but the last time that marker hormone they test for spiked everyone got really worried until he got a bone scan. So, I have empathy for you.

Summer is a killer of good sleep. I get the best sleep during winter, tucked in my warm duvet.
And did I mention I don't want to move? At all? I was getting thirsty every two minutes so I got myself a nice large bottle of cold water next to my keyboard and saved myself the trouble of walking 30ft to the kitchen. Then another 30 back from the kitchen. It makes me tired just to think of it.
And I am so dizzy all the time! It's not my low BP, because I eat salty stuff and it doesn't go away. It's not dehydration because I drink tons of water. I don't know what the heck it is, but it pisses me off.

We violated Emily Post Rule # 2 for parties. Last to leave.... by a MILE. Party ends at 10:30... we stayed and chatted.... until 2:30. It was awkward- first we were working on some dance stuff, then we all got caught up talking about everything and it was actually a fun chat- but then I saw my poor other-teacher's eyes start to kind of NOT be open, and I thought "Oh, GEEZ- LOOK at the TIME..." and I feel like a horse's ass. They didn't act like "Damn- how can we get these nerds out of here?", because we all like to talk, but still- that was a terrible, horrible, awful social faux pas we committed. We'll burn in etiquette hell for that.

Thanks... although you're not exactly right. Sure, I could talk about this topic off the top of my head, but preparing an actual hour long talk with PowerPoint slides, etc., does take some time, especially when I'm trying to hunt for the right images to make the various points I am trying to. That said, I think I finally have it all sorted out and can now get three hours of sleep or so before going in to teach me "Prehistory and the Rise of Civilization" class before heading over to the museum for the talk.

Awake and tetchy. Very tetchy. I don't like "dance snobbery", and I'm seeing a lot of it- not just online, but it's cropping up in places here, with inter-studio politics, plaque-ism (long story), and bored gossip.
I can't find another bag of stones I had for this dress, and I hope I didn't mistake them for M&Ms while I was doped-up last night.
Not dreading, but not anticipating tomorrow's (ok, today's) lesson. The outside spin turn-feather-finish, the chasse-drag hesitation, reverse box, and the introduction of the fleckerel makes my sphincter clench.
What threw the teacher for a loop was that we'd learned seemingly rapidly prior to her over-taking the lessons, and then, for the past two months, we've been crawling along at a remedial tortoise's pace. Granted, most of the "barrier" was "learning her language", but still- we should have picked up by now. I shouldn't be sitting up at nearly 3 am snapping and foaming, and obsessing about things I can't practice until tomorrow anyway.
And these three damned pounds won't go away. I lost so much, that when ANYthing sticks for very long, I get antsy.

Not really an IRU post. Woke up to get a glass of water. Sleepy as all-get-out.
2:29 AM. Checking in and out. G'night, all. :kitty:

I'm on night two of insomnia watch. Last night I finally went to sleep after 3am and woke up at 8am and couldn't get back to sleep. Now it's 12:30am in California and I'm wide awake...I hope I can fall asleep before 2am, that would be an improvement.

I was wrong again. Spent the last three hours listening to clicking noises in my wall. Mice? Hope not. Off to buy some more of those ultrasonic thingies that worked so well last year. :car:

Awake and tetchy. Very tetchy. I don't like "dance snobbery", and I'm seeing a lot of it- not just online, but it's cropping up in places here, with inter-studio politics, plaque-ism (long story), and bored gossip.
Hmmm. For a moment, I thought "plaque-ism" was a reference to dental plaque. Which would've kinda made sense, what with dental plaque leading to bad breath. Anyway, I think I get it now.

Total insomnia...got done with the comp a few hours ago and keep watching the DVD over and over and over. Too bad it's encoded or something and I can't figure out how to grab a video clip off it right now. Anyway, the comp was fun, the dancing was decent, but I can hardly wait to get back into the studio to work on making it all better!

Can't sleep. Been sleeping OK lately, but not tonight.
2:40 am and I have a lesson in the morning. Last lesson before pro goes to Ohio, no lessons for a week.

... Insomnia here. On the West Coast it's past 4am. I have tried sleeping 3 times and don't know what gives.
Maybe I didn't practice hard enough Friday night??? lol!! :)

Been sleeping crappy, here. But I'm still firmly in denial. If I don't get up, walk upstairs, and log into DF, nobody knows that I was awake all night. Except me, that is ...
Totally unrelated question: If an isolated tree falls in the middle of the forest with nobody there to hear, did it really fall? Hmmm...
Meaning. I am NOT an IRU peep. No. Really. I'm not. *denial alert!*

It's too early in California to be an official insomniac yet -- but it's well after 11:00pm and I'm still cooking! Although I'm to the best part of the cooking, the part where I drink the rest of the pinot grigio that didn't go into the corn chowder :)

Going to bed early's for quitters. And people who don't consume massive quantities of caffeine, taurine, B-12, and other mind-rotting substances found in fizzy energy drinks.

I'm trying to find a video implementing fleckerel. None in my stash, none on youtube, none on brd.c so I'm out of luck. I don't want to ask for something over-our-heads again, but we can't keep playing with matches unsupervised.

I'm not in favor of the fleckerl. I'd rather spend my time and money on the three step.
Still awake! Corn chowder came out awesome!

Mmmm....corn chowder sounds awesome Laura. Could have use some after the rough day at the studio today. Seems I couldn't have gotten through my routines today to save my life. It's keeping me up tonight....
Hope you guys are having better luck of it....
To Laura and all you late-night Thanksgiving-Day-food-preparers . . . Good Night and Good Luck!

Scatter chasses got the best of me tonight. I actually had a fit of idio-giggles when I danced them PROPERLY the first time with the (sub) teacher, and then it cracked him up, and then after that, I did it wrong every damn time. So very wrong.
Cooking: Nuts to that, we're getting Subway carry-out.

Well, our VW is hardly a VW, with or without the F. It won't matter if we chop it up and mix it in or not.

I was just thinking of this thread today. I've been up till after 3 am the past few nights, reading, 'cause I cannot sleep! My natural body rhythm seems to want to go to sleep at 4am, sleep till one pm. But I don't like missing out on all the daylight.
this, too, shall pass...
