I couldn't figure this girl out...she was a good dancer and very, very beautiful...but she just sat down nearly the entire evening (and so did I, incidentally). I believe I was the first guy that asked her and she was really fun to dance with...very different styles but a lot of passion and eye contact. I actually had trouble leading her and made a ton of mistakes...but she didn't seem to mind. :D
But later on she only danced with one other guy...and turned all the rest down. I should've asked her to dance again but I sissied out...hopefully I will see her there again...and when I'm in a better frame of mind for dancing. ;)
This gives me an idea for a new thread...:)

It's a little past 1:00 a.m. Sunday morning, and I can't believe I'm still up. I think I'm just too wired to go to sleep right now. I got home just before midnight, after having dinner with a friend & watching a Richard Gere movie on HBO. Well, tomorrow's a holiday, so I can sleep in.

You're not very good at being discreet, are you Purr? I think a banning would be in order just for watching Richard Gere. :D
1:17 am - Back from two different Salsa venues. Boy did I do something really stupid tonight. Went to the first venue that my teacher does twice a month...had some nice ladies show up and the local band had a singer visting from Cuba who had a really incredible voice. So I'm there enjoying the music...and chatting it up with this really attractive lady I met during the lesson that didn't know much Salsa, but was very passionate and fun to talk with.
So I leave early since the other club has a live band...I get there and its packed...but after an hour or so I'm bored! The music is mediocre...way too many guys...ugh I can't stand the place! And to think I could've stayed at the smaller venue, heard really good music and danced with some really nice ladies.... :headwall:
Lesson learned...next time I'm at the first venue...I'm going to stay all night and dance with everyone...

I have missed doing what I should since Wednesday night, but must not let myself lapse too long.....I went to Dance mix tonight and tried to leave, but I was persuaded to stay on. You should've done your homework for Spanish class, but instead went out dancing with some beautiful ladies and set the dance floor on fire. The memory of the closeness of their embrace, the scent of the perfume is deep within your heart, and although it beats alone now, when you close your eyes, you can still feel another heart beating near your own.
The trance has filled you, left you speechless...so in your dreams, you will be dancing again...in the stars...
Buenos noches.

Let me make my virgin post in IRU :rocker:
I'm not usually a late night person on weekdays, on weekends I stay up late salsaing, but not today! It's a Saturday night 2.30 am, and guess what, I am working! :? I have been sacrificing my dancing for work lately. I've been so stressed out for my school and work, been sooooo busy (no exageration), last week I worked 16 hrs 3 days in a roll. Graduate students are slaves :( :? All this work + pressure of graduation is so depressing, no matter how hard I try I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, because every week I just keep having more and more to do before I even complete what I had to do last week. All this has been building up for quite a while but I never talk to anyone about that. I think all this is just exploding now. I've been crying on and off this weekend (Note: I'm not usually like that!). I know this's temporarily and I just need to get past that...... (I'm tearing up again  )
Anyway, let me get back to my work, sorry for such a whining post, just need an outlet.... Thanks....

My first true IRU night in a while.
Welcome back Jenn!
1:08am here now... sort of rolling on this section of writing i'm trying to wrap up, so just taking a quick break from that.
On a side note, today was the first day it has rained here in six months... I *hate* rain. :( The way I figure it, I travel often enough, so why can't it just rain on those days, when i'm out of town? :?

But if you don't lie in bed thinking of stuff, what's it really good for anyway? :)

Only 11:45pm here... came home early as I'm still trying to be careful with my back after my recent injury. Feels OK but a bit tender, so I didn't want to push it too far. Had two very enjoyable dances with the best salsera there before leaving though, so I'm all :D's!

Nope. Nor a pumpkin pie. :(
The challenger made a very strange version of pumpkin ice cream, but apparently it was quite good as he won over Iron Chef Chen Kinichi.

Personally I like pumpkin a lot... but I thought that challenger, who was an Italian style chef, might have made a pumpkin ravioli along the lines of a butternut squash one... shows you what I know...

I make pumpkin pies every year. I steam a Japanese pumpkin("kabocha") which has a richer taste & is naturally sweeter than that watery canned crap we can get at import stores. For pumpkin bread, I have a recipe which utilizes whole wheat flour, tons of spices & pine nuts. It is from a native American cookbook. I will post the recipe in the cooking forum next time I make it.

Yep. The people who like pumpkin, like it a lot. I remember my first pumpkin experience. It was pumpkin pie, and I bit nto it thinking of sweet potato. Eeek! Pumpkin is NOT sweet potato. *shudder* No more pumpkin for me. :(

Mmmm, I'll keep an eye out for that!
They actually had three types of pumpkins in the Iron Chef pumpkin battle... two kinds were green (on the surface) and one was orange... who knew??? (Well, probably people living polaces where they don;t just get orange pumpkins... )

I absolutely LOVE kabocha -- it occasionally appears at a local supermarket (labelled "Kabocha", not pumpkin). I have a couple of recipes for Kabocha, but your pumpkin bread sounds yummy!
