Received an email purporting to be from my credit card company instructing me to go to their website to update my secuirty info.

Realized it was almost certainly a scam, and dumped the actual message contents to examine. Carefully pulled up the destination web address (not what it appears to be) and the quality of the fake site is pretty astounding. It even has links to the real site's "jobs" section.

Be careful of this stuff... even when you know that what you are looking at is fake, the fact that it looks so real is pretty scary.

I get quite a few of these. Bank fraud like this is huge here.

I dont replyto anything via email, I always call the bank.

Usually the easiest way to tell if you have recieved one ofthe emails is that it will be addressed to "Dear Customer/Valued Customer" etc... true bank emails always contain your full name in the text.

And remember that banks (here at least) will never requset your catd/account # info via email.

And remember that banks (here at least) will never requset your catd/account # info via email.

This applies over here in the UK also. Some international banks have been targetted this way and they have had to repeatedly warn their customers NOT to divilge this information via email/Instant message.
