Peach the video came to me sideways, as the filmer held her/his camera that way...I think playing on the idea of horizontal dancing maybe???? Since eveyone seems to have a hard time with it, I can switch it vertical if Sabor okays it.

I love it and showed it at work all day yesterday!

Looks like the movie was saved in a weird file type (asf?)...I ran a shareware converter and got it to play the right side up...still so dark though, but I could see quite a bit of it.

the quality is not great, very grainy...and I have converted it to a flash file, so it may take a moment to load...but at least you don't have to flip your monitor on its side and squint!

There's this guy in the Seattle salsa scene who has been nicknamed "Tango Guy" because he dances some sort of traveling dance during salsa songs and uses his poor unsuspecting partner as a battering ram. When he gets too close, I'll intentionally block his way so that he doesn't run into us.

:lol: When I first saw the clip, I had no sound (no sound card in the computer :? ) and I loved what I saw. Why? Because I could see the joy and "see" the music radiating from Sabor and his partner's movements. Sometimes, you (me!) can get so caught up in the song/music, you think you like what you are seeing when in fact you are not reallying paying attention as your (my!) ears have taken over.

I have also previously mentioned :wink: :lol: about a scene from a cuban dance production called Tocoraro (Carlos Acosta) that played in London. There is a dance routine that is performed to "the sound of silence". When I first saw the show, I thought huh?!? Then I saw the show again later (can anyone say smitten? :wink: :lol: ) and appreciated that scene even more because a) it was no longer "revolutionary" and b) I was able to see/feel the rhythm that was being kept.

(It is the reverse of going only by the sound of say someone's voice to know that they are in pain/angry without necessarily having to see their body languague.)

Yeah, that makes perfect sense. Sabor and the lady were so at ease with each other, thrilled to be dancing with each other. This is a different side of salsa than what I think of. Very nice and inspiring.

Hey just got home from salsa night. We were Sabor and his friend tonight :lol: Was such fun. Thank you so much Sabor for allowing us all to see the clip. As my partner said "It was liberating". i genuinely felt that your video clip would be a nice reference for freestyling in salsa. Its a good example of improvisation, body styling, and fun. especially since this is not a choregraphed performance, but a social dance.

she wasn't watching.. we both were doing body freestyling ..total improvization.. no patterns or 'moves' .. she's working her shoulders and feet mostly and just enjoying the beat.. as was i.. maybe the nice thing about this is that we were unaware of being filmed.. which made it come out simple and natural..

A few weeks ago there was a SOS-Salsa party for all poor children of the world. At this party they sold tickets for a SOS-SALSA-Cab which actually was the greatest dancers of Gothenburg. If you had a tickent you got a dance with the one you wanted. They where all lined up waitning for "passengers". :D

Sabor, perhaps this idea might help you with the finances going to Australia? We can help you with the salsatickets :lol:. Perhaps people can make their reservation by the web. Day, time, place and preferences (I mean kind of dance :wink:) :lol: :lol: :lol:

Sorry Swannie. I think the putfile name, 'wsue' has been taken by someone else now.

Sabor only puts the videos on the internet for a short period of time, and then takes them down again. I think he gets a bit shy? ;)

So, if the links are not working, my guess is that the videos are no longer on line. Or, he has hidden with with Fort Knox type security! Now, if you asking nicely (!!!) he may oblige and share the videos once more. :D

No, that is not Sabor's video. Larinda kindly agreed to host the video on her website, as from what I recall/understand, the file size was too big for the sharing sites that were available 'back then' - YouTube was not around in 'those days' :lol: even if it was just a mere three years ago or so.

If you were to see Sabor's video, there would be NO DOUBT as to what/who you were watching :lol: (I can say this about Sabor, as I have been acquainted with him for a number of years now, and not some 'gushing fan'!)

Okay, have seen the video with sound (when I first saw it, there was no sound, just as with the first one). I think I have pinpointed why it is I prefer the very first video... with the sound off, I could SEE the music oozing out of every pore of your body. From recollection, yes, you were wearing less clothes too, but that was not why I could SEE the music :tongue:

Dearest, remember that you are a "big guy". If I were to look at you through a telescope, which is normally used to look at things in a distance..........and they therefore appear to be small in size............. you would fill up the telescopic lens.......................... and I still won't be able to see anything! :mrgreen:

[For clarification, for those who do not know Sabor or have not realised, he is about 6ft 3ins tall which is circa 195cms? His shoulders are about 3ft wide... oops, that was me looking at him through the telescope ;). In any event, he is as well built as he is tall. Re the correct way to write dates, generally, number first. If writing the month then I have seen month and number, but that is rare than than the norm. When it comes to using numbers, definitely date first and then month after, therefore -

17/07/07 or 17.07.07 or even 17-07-07

but not 07/17/07 or 07.17.07 or 07-17-07 ie. day of the month not last or in the middle.

haven't u heard? .. the Giza pyramids where lately dropped from the '7 wonders' list by the Unicef.. seriously.. they updated it i think around a month ago or so .. and guess the oldest standing structure in the world took the slip..

but its not the Pyramids fault for they are forever grand.. its just seems we know ziltch for marketing/management in a world of propaganda.. oh well..
