Today I ran a workshop at a therapy fair in the UK. When I first thought about it, a week ago [I don't think much in advance about events] I had a fleeting thought that I didn't want to do it. I immediately recognised that this was a very negative and unproductive way of thinking about it.
CHANGE THE FILTER and notice what your brain sorts for
So, I changed the filter from one of narrow tunnel negative thinking to an open wide anything can happen expectation. AND I didn't stop there. Instead of saying to myself 'expect good things' or something vaguely hopeful and broad I said I might meet someone special I might make a fantastic contact I might have unexpected encounters I might attract some clients and indeed people for my workshops. I arrived still with a thought that it was not a big fair and therefore wasn't expecting a huge turnout. Ho Ho! I let go of that one and went to my room thinking 'it could be amazing'...
When I walked in the room 50 people were squashed in there were a lot of people waiting outside who couldn't get into the room simply because there wasn't enough space. First pleasant surprise.
And then I spotted at the back of the room my friend Caroline whom I'd not seen for a few months. Caroline is a highly skilled coach who always helps out on my weekends whenever she's free. She now runs laughter yoga classes when she's not an executive coach at work. JOY...
During the first break a lady asked to talk to me.. She informed that she was starting a holistic TV production company and her first venture, for which she'd already got considerable financial backing was something that I'd been dreaming of for years. 'Would this interest you' she asked. WOULD IT!!!!
As the day went on more and more amazing things happened and I ended up selling nearly all my books and getting requests for personal sessions as well as bookings for my course. It was like Christmas had come early..
HOW CAN THIS HELP YOU?
So, my thought for you right now is... What is about to happen for you that you might be considering negatively or even neutrally? Whatever it is, take a moment or two to run through all the possibilities of what could happen... and let your mind take all that in, noticing how it feels in your body and hold that filter in mind as you go through the days building up to it... Change the filter and force your brain to sort for what's possible not the other stuff...
You might also know me as The Flirt Coach. But I don't really teach what people think of as flirting, all that lip licking, hair twiddling and eye contact. Instead I teach you how to learn how YOU do yourself at your best.. and how to use that information like a gym exercise to build up your 'at your best muscles'... Believe me, this is like a magic pill, except you don't swallow it, you just run it in your body...
And that's just the start. Playfulness, dancing, noticing different energies and how to shift yourself to gain more energetic rapport.. How to connect and communicate and how above all to expect the best for yourself and end up meeting people and encountering opportunities that are a match and fit for you.
It isn't about flirting as we know it on the surface, but how to build the inner resources that make great flirts so good at what they do..
