Anyone going? I know Laura is...it would be nice to get together!

Yeah, I'm going and I'm going to suck too. I really should scratch this competition because I haven't practiced enough, but seeing as I've already paid for it I might as well dance because I don't have an excuse that would warrant a refund.

We showed our foxtrot to our coach for the first time last Saturday. I think he suffered some brain damage when he was banging his head against the wall, because he had no memory of it when we saw him again yesterday! Oh well, I figure the worst that can happen is we'll forget the routine and *gasp* lead-follow for a wall or two!

I'll be there - I dance Saturday night and Sunday - will I get to see either of your dance during those times or do I need to get up earlier? let me know
I think the dancing blues are going around. We have a new wall in our Waltz and I have a run around that I can't seem to the get the exit from. It really bites cause we do a similar move in Foxtrot and I never have a problem.
On top of that Jeff and I are dancing standard as well as smooth- I haven't competed standard in three years so we are just doing a bronze multi-dance to get our feet wet - all lead follow - and all on exactly 45 minutes (my lesson yesterday) of practice.
On top of which one of my coaches has just finished fiddling with my frame which basically means I can breath and hold dance position but not much more.
On top of that my dress isn't done
On top of that I just lost all my keys
It is monday yet?

I'm doing Pro/Am Silver Smooth, so I assume I'll have to be up at the crack of dawn again. I'll probably be there Friday night so that I don't have to drive down from San Francisco in time to compete at like 8am or whatever on Saturday.

Bill and I will be on the floor at the same time as Laura, probably (Open Silver Smooth), plus that afternoon for Rhythm. Sunday same as you, Gumby, for multidance.
Oh, I'm almost done with my latin dress but haven't started my smooth dress. "Almost done" doesn't include stones...which haven't arrived yet!

I'm doing intermediate and full silver, and D's other Smooth student is doing open silver and intermediate gold. So I'll be there to watch you, but not on the floor at the same time.

I was lucky - I had no choice - I made my last dress (the purple one) in May for a June event it fit perfectly - by IGB I had lost seven pounds and almost two inches and it was tooo loose (yeah!!) I was going to take it in - but by the time I took in six seams, changed the sleeve cap - et cetera (not to mention taking off stones) it was way too much work. So I am hoping to sell aforementioned purple dress.
Since I had already started the new dress (it was supposed to be my standard gown) I just changed the pattern a little and now it will do for either. So - now I need a strictly smooth gown - so I get to make another one! (I get giddy about fabric).
I am probably the only person at IGB who scored fabric! I am in sewing Nirvana - 10 luscious yards of lime green slinky - (I think I just drooled on my keyboard)

ACK!!! Still have to install the bodysuit, finish the neckline, add the sleeves, and hem my smooth gown! Then, stone both dresses...and tan, and bleach my hair, and get my nails done, and pack...and I have to work all week! Oh, crap.

The entry lists are up on the Galaxy web site. I'm dancing early Saturday morning, but not as early as IGB. My first event is at like 9:48, and I'll be done (including getting my awards) by 11am. As far as I can tell I'm not contested. Oh well...hopefully there will be some late entries!!!!

Ok, found it. ACK! I didn't know we had to do V Waltz in the silver multi dance!!! I'm going to have a melt down.
Where do you see who else is in the heat?
Laura

To see who else is in your heats you have to obsessively look up each male name in that drop-down list where you looked up your own heat. I got about 3/4 the way through it and didn't see anyone else, and pretty much stopped looking there.

Well, I looked through every single competitor, and there are no open silver A2's! A3, C in open silver, A2 in silver 1 and 2. Oh well!
The good news is, the heat lists are now showing the multidance with W/T/F only. Phew!

Bodysuit in (not sure if I like it...made the elastic at the necline too tight), one sleeve in. Got the nails done (both kinds), but the stupid fabric turned my shimmery white nails purple! sheesh. Got today off, so off I go to sew!
