Wild Card Winners:
Jonathan and Sean. I had a tough time with that decision. I'm disappointed that Kyle and Sara didn't win. Oh, well. I guess it's not like a REAL competition.

I’ll probably rethink or amend some of this later, but here are my initial impressions:
Ok, first a few minor points...despite what any listings or even the show may say, Monica & Alex were dancing salsa and Ryan & Diana danced rumba tonight (they danced cha cha the week they advanced).
As far as the wild card results, I'm right there with DanceMentor. Not to take anything away from the Sean & Jonathan (great name there too  ) but I really thought Kyle & Sara should've had that one. They were just flat out sick! That body roll in the neck drop? Damn! Again, I really don't think that the judges fully appreciate the skill involved in seamless partnering. As for Alex & Monica, I liked tonight's routine better then their first one...however, although it was more dynamic, it still seemed overly telegraphed. Compare it, for instance, to Kyle & Sarah with whom you never knew what they were going to do next yet it flowed out of what they were doing...and seamlessly at that.
Ok, now on to final results...I've got to mirror Jamie's comment regarding the Belles -- outstanding formation work! Their lines/shapes/spacing were dead on and their transitions from one to another were fantastic. Personally I'd preferred their non-finals costuming, but that's just me. As for Ryan & Diana, at first I wasn’t sure that rumba had been a good choice…I’d thought it might be too slow relative to the high energy/power that seemed to be getting results. I thought they did an excellent job though, and really did ballroom proud showing the level of bodily control and mastery involved.
I hate to say it but B-Boy Crumbs was a let down tonight. The week he advanced was just off the hook….hell it was off hooks I didn’t even know existed! Tonight’s routine, unfortunately, didn’t seem as high power or as clean. The boy still deserves mad props though.
Ok, now the tough stuff…All That, like B-Boy Crumbs just did not impress me as much tonight as they had when they won. I think they are great performers, very good at what they do, and exude energy and love of dance. That being said, however, I still could’ve seen them not making the dance off. I really didn’t think their final round routine was as strong.
Live in Color…what can I say? The week they advanced I had someone else over them. Their final round routine tonight was phenomenal! It was waaaaaaaaay too short for my liking. I just wanted it to keep going and going in a way that no other routine has hit me. Do I think that their dance-off number was as strong? No. But as far as having now presented three different looks and just living their dancing? Well, I wish them nothing but more continuing success in all that follows…

I think All THAT should have won, They pulled out some wicked moves for that last 30 seconds, But we all know the people who they had as judges are not real dancers and have no idea how to judge. Now B boy crump he was to big headed, He would never get hired with that way of thinking. I just missed the auditions was in car wreck got hit by a drunk driver. There is always next time.

But we all know the people who they had as judges are not real dancers and have no idea how to judge. Ummm, hate to disagree but, while we may have reservations about their judging, the dance "qualifications" of Jamie King are impeccable and if you just look at any old MC Hammer video its hard to say that he's not a real dancer (whatever that would mean).

Hey,
I have a comment about the qualifications to be a judge. Judging a TV talent show is a lot different than judging a real dance competition. They selected Jamie, Carmen and Hammer for their celebrity images and also their dance experience. We all know Jamie is a trained dancer/choreographer, Hammer is a dancing entertainer, and even Carmen has some dance experience. But on a TV talent show... it's a little more low-key than an actual dance competition. On TV it's cool to have celebrity judges. But at a real salsa competition, for example, you'd expect nothing less than real salsa judges. I think Dance Fever was OK. Star Search had Ben Stein and Naomi Judd as dance judges... what the hell? ;)
Now, a word about Bboy Crumbs never getting hired with that way of thinking... According to his website resume, he has no trouble getting hired to do anything. Right now he's on tour with Justin Timberlake and Christina. And he's performed on many different shows and venues. I'm not supporting his @$$hole attitude, but he had made quite a name for himself in the BBoy arena. Check out his resume at http://www.bboycrumbs.com/resume.htm
I'd also like to say thanks to everyone who supported All That! It was truly their dream to take clogging to the mainstream and show people the kind of dance clogging really is. You can find out more info about All That! at http://www.toetaps.com/

I also agree that Kyle and Sara should have made it to the finals. Like a lot of others, I was also disappointed with the performance from Crumbs. It was definitely not his best and I know that he has better routines that are more hype than the one he did. But c'est la vie!
As far as the finals...Live in Color were a good choice, but I like the Belles better than All That.
Oh and as far as Crumbs being an A-hole - trust me, he actually isn't! (Enerjetic - one of the bboys from the West Coast Rockers fits that definition a LOT more better). When it comes to dancing, he puts on a "game face" because in the bboy scene, the point is to intimidate your opponent, but outside of dancing, Crumbs is actually one of the most modest people I know!

Oh yeah! Just a little bit of trivia....I don't know if anyone remembers Tommy Boy (he was a popper from I believe the first or second show)...he is in the same crew as Crumbs!

That's cool to hear crumps is a cool guy, I would love to meet him. I'm kind of been low key for a while Been in this game for over 20 years now and still going.I have that oldschool flava like crazy legs. 6 years ago i battle a guy and he pulled some power moves out on me so I knew i had to go back to school and start training. I ended up coming back and beating the guy, It just shows theres always something new to learn that's why i love this art.

I finally got to watch this show for the first time. It was very interesting watching all the different styles of dancing. I thought Kyle and Sara were fantastic! Their feet were just flying. I was very dissappointed that they didn't advance to the finals. I didn't think anyone else came even close. If anyone has seen them in competition, you will know what I'm talking about. They are a very talented couple. In my opinion, the judges voted for the dancers that they identified with and couples dancing is not their style. I liked Live in Color for entertainment value but I really didn't think they were the best. The Southern Belles I thought were excellent. BBoy was just awesome! I think I enjoyed watching all the finalist. Even though I think the judging is off, I'm glad that they have a show like this. I'm tired of all the talent contests that always focus on singers. Dancing is an wonderful talent that is really overshadowed by singers. I hope they keep it up and more couples enter the contest even if they don't win, the exposure to couples dancing has to be good!

Hi dancergal . . . it's been a while!!!
I still have yet to see any week of this show . . wrong place at the wrong time, I guess! Weekends are non-stop for me.
However, without a doubt . . . Kyle and Sarah should be number 1 . . . without even seeing the others compete.
Going to San Jose this weekend???

Hi Vince,
Weekends are the same for me, total non-stop, but we got home on Sunday just in time to catch this show. I've never gotten around to try and tape it. It was very entertaining. Glad we at least got to see the finals.
Yes, yes, we'll be at South Bay in San Jose. Can't wait. Got my shoes shined and all ready to go!! :D We'll be there Friday evening after work. We're not staying at the hotel. It's close enough to us so we can drive home each night even though it will be around 35-40 min. drive. How am I going to recognize you?

Someone told me that they replay it during the week . . . I'm looking for it!
My shoes are also shined and ready to go . . . we're staying with frinds about 5 to 10 minutes away!
Just look for the smoothest, non-kid dancer in a WCS. I usually wear black Harley-Davidson shirts, baggy jeans, and dance sneakers during the day . . . dress up at night!
I dropped out of competition for SB . . . my eight routines are just not ready. My Pro says "put on the floor, what you got." But that's not me. I need to make sure that muscle memory has me 100%, and it doesn't! So now, I can have fun and play all weekend.
I'll be dancing with everyone I can, and I'll be asking them where thay are from . . . we'll eventually catch each other!

"Health warning": This thread has been resurrected.
Does anyone remember how the entrants to this competition were selected? I am curious to see whether this was the forerunner to/inspiration for the Strictly Dance Fever competition taking place in the UK...
