What up! What up! Got a question for all of you...

Does anyone know of any good Bachata concerts coming up soon on the West Coast???

I don't care who it is as long as they play Bachata!! If Menudo says they are throwing a Bachata performance, I am there!! :D Top dollar paid too!

I've been looking on the web but it seems that the East Coast has Bachata on lock as far as live performances are concerned. I've been looking for a performance here for the past year and a half. Ever since I became horribly addicted to the romantic dance. I even get grouchy when I don't hear bachata for a period of time :x

I managed to catch only one live bachata performance ever and that was by sheer dumb luck. I happened to have a Sunday to kill in Louisiana (don't ask me what I was doing there) and decided to go to Six Flags. As I was about to jump on Riddler's Revenge I started hearing those beautiful bachata guitar strings. I thought my withdrawls were kicking in again and my head was playing tricks on me. Listening more carefully, I knew it wasn't my head playing any tricks...I could recognize the voice of Zacarias in a stadium full of screaming fans. Someone was playing Bachata. What I asked myself, is Bachata doing in the dirty dirty? Turns out Six Flags was throwing a Latin Festival concert. What luck I thought! Looks like I get to dance to something other than Lil Jon (Not that I mind). I thought it was going to be mostly Salsa and Merengue but next thing I know Nueva Era goes on stage and I'm caught in a full blown Bachata party. It was like a blessing from the sky. Turns out the Bachata scene is huge down there. I guess Aventura was going to be there the following week.

Well anyway...if anyone knows of any upcoming performances, I would love to know about them. And if any bachata performers read this...Vegas loves bachata! Come on down!

Hi chico lindo. I have no idea (I'm in the East, myself. ) But I'll google. Any particular artists? Or will any bachata do?

(Hmm. The Sea World here does a Latin music festival every September (Hispanic Heritage month) I wonder if the Sea World in San Diego does, too. :?

I'll take a look around and see if I can find anything. 8)

Hmm. You're right. I googled on "bachata concert California 2004," and I got a bunch of hits for the East Coast -- Florida, Pennsylvania, etc. Oh yeah, and a couple concerts in Ohio. :(

I'll keep looking, though. 8) Maybe the key is to google on bands that do bachata, and to look at their calendars. Hmm...

Bummer! I checked. Sea World San Diego is doing a (believe it or not) American music festival in September and October. Who knows why? It's Hispanic Heritage Month all over the US, last time I checked.

I'll keep looking for bachata in Nevada or California. (btw. There are a LOT of cheap flights into Orlando and Miami. Did you know? :raisebro: )

Appreciate the help everyone! I thought maybe I was looking in the wrong places. Bachata is getting bigger down here by the day. I'm starting to hear it on the Spanish radio stations in the LA area which was unheard of a year ago. I'm hating on you all in the east coast! :D

I'm actually going to be in the Ft. Lauderdale/Orlando area in December from the 19 till the 26th. Not sure if those are Bachata spots but if anyone hears of anything, let me know. Much appreciated! Thanks again!
