Sorry guys  I know that this one may leave you left out

Ladies, any tips for "learning" how to walk in high heels? Three that I remember being told/hearing/reading about are:

- swing your leg from your hip
- keep your back straight/head high (a book should be able to balance on your head   )
- don't stride  (yeah right! Try shouting to your bus driver that you can't stride/run!)

Any other tips?

hey!! I'm interested too. I remember trying to do so and failing horribly as my girl friends laughed their heads off.

Learn to stand before learning to walk. If your ankles wobble at ALL, get into a lower heel height. You should be just as stable on stilts as off. ;)

Good posture is a must. If you slouch, you'll have a harder time negotiating your balance.

I seem to have a tendency to put the weight on the outside of my feet (being slightly bow-legged), which makes me very wobbly when wearing shoes with slim heels (even not so high heels). Hence my preferance for chunky, stable heels both for dancing and walking.

There's a girl in my scene who always dance salsa in stilettos -- I can only watch her in awe.

Why not? Why should I limit the things that I can experience and fool around with? I refuse to be limited/restricted/constricted by cultural conception of gender.

Sabor, if I were you, I'd ask them how much they'd pay to see it. ;)

LOL! Big time!

Sabor, I would at least need to garner enough votes to win the 2004 DF flirt award first. Then they'd need to make their monatery offers. My price might be too high. ;)

And don't tell them I've never worn high heels in my life, or I might not be able to obtain as much as you likely could anyway. Probably not much to learn from me. ;)
