I'll have to search for some specific examples, but the ones I find funniest are the ones that say something like ,"I'm a horrible dancer," or "I have no rhythm" or,"there's no hope for me," or stuff like that. So then, what are you doing on a dance website? Hmm? :eyebrow:

I would like to change my name. I just put down the first thing I thought of when I decided to sign up (it was while reading one of those threads that pointed fingers at lurkers). If only I could think of something clever to change it to.

I don't really wanna get on anyones bad side and say that anybodys names are "wierd" but I think I must be pronouncing some of them wrong. (Its like looking at a personalized license plate and having no idea how to pronounce it! :) )
for example: when I see "pygmalion" I pronounce it (PIG-MAL-E-ON)
gee I hope thats right....
What I often wonder is the reasoning behind some of the names picked...

Pygmalion
Bernard Shaw
Based on classical myth, Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion plays on the complex business of human relationships in a social world. Phonetics Professor Henry Higgins tutors the very Cockney Eliza Doolittle, not only in the refinement of speech, but also in the refinement of her manner. When the end result produces a very ladylike Miss Doolittle, the lessons learned become much more far reaching. The successful musical My Fair Lady was based on this Bernard Shaw classic.
note from motardmom: Pretty Woman is a movie based upon the same concept. Pygmalion is classic! There are lots of movies based upon Pygmalion.
