Glad you liked it. :D
What makes it even better/funnier is when you're familiar enough with the ballroom scene to realize that the movie isn't really even that much over the top

Has anyone checked out the hidden/deleted scene on the DVD?
There's a tricky way to get to it, since it's hidden on the disc menu structure as an "easter egg".
Just to summarize, Scott and Fran are confronted by Scott's friend (the guy always asking for help on the bogo-pogo) inside Fran's family's liquor store.
I'll see if I can find the directions on how to get to the hidden clip, if anyone's interested.

Wow. I didn't even know this was on DVD. I'm ordering it TODAY. What a classic film, especially for dance nuts. The paso doble scene at the end is the best! But I also love the silhouette rumba in the middle.
That's it. I've gotta get my hands on that movie today.

No DVD player? WHo are you Fred Flintstone?
They cost $60. Join us in the 21st Century you Luddite! ;)
Seriousely they are way inexpensive these days and well worth having. Soon VCR's will go the way of 8-Tracks, and you don't want to be that guy you know the one, "It's just a fad." "My VCR works just fine." "I LIKE having to fast forward and rewind a movie just to get to my favorite scene."
Strictly Ballroom is a great movie. The hair...the make-up, the clothes!
Oh, and there is some dancing in there somewhere I guess.

No, I'm the guy who has 100 rolls of film sitting in the fridge from ballroom comps in England, Italy, CA, and FL that I cannot afford to develop!

You know, SDSalsaguy, if you were the mercenary (or perhaps pragmatic?) type, this would be a great place to plug your research website, and let people know where to send their contribution checks. :D

well, I don't have a DVD player either ;) I watch them on my pc.
"vivir con miedo es como vivir a medias" my favorate line in the movie :D also I like the one which goes "when you dance rumba, you have to pretend to be in love :)" pygmalion, wanna dance?

Thanks a lot...
Actually that's my old Rhythm & Latin partner and I at our last comp together...now that I'm starting to get back to competitive dancing I wanted the reminder/inspiration.
Anytime. Couldn't resist.
Well, in that case, plug away!

Being the tech junky that I am, I would probably buy the DVD just so I could figure this out. What's the secret?
