Seconded! Also, seeing you have various background in other dances, salsa shouldn't be too hard to get into :D

Listen to the music of the various dances, see which one appeals to you the most. Consider which dances are done in your area so you can enjoy socially what you learn. Combine those two and pick the dance to learn.

I'd suggest taking several social and ballroom dances. I love the Latin ones (cha -cha, rumba), and have LOTS of fun with merengue and bachata. Swing and all its variations are cool too. Oh, and salsa, salsa, salsa!!! Explore and enjoy!!

I've seen people incorporate bits of every single one of those dances into Salsa. So, Salsa would give you a chance to learn something new, plus more lead/follow techniques, and get exposed to a different genre of music -- yet you would still have the freedom to incorporate some movements that you already know, for your own "flavor."

Stephy, my suggestion is the same as Sagitta's. Try out the different dances and decide which ones appeal most to you. :)

visit dance scenes or places.. listen.. watch.. make your pick.
