In chronological order, the names of my major crushes over the last two years have been:

Marit
Maria
Marleen
Marlous
Anne-Marie
Marsha
Marieke
Maria (another one)

I feel I'm going crazy! Its gotten so bad that once I meet some Marxxxx named person I already become suspicious as to whether this'll turn out to be my next crush.

What are the odds?

You need to break the cycle this year....

unless of course, that is the extent of the girls' names in your country!

Does your name have an "M" in it??

Are you some kind of Martyr? or is it all just a marvelous co-incidence? You are clearly marked by fate and should cease to eat marmalade, margarine or any marine foods and should avoid marchionesses in march, mares and maraschino cherries.
Subconchously you are looking for someone to marry.

hehe yeah...3rd out of 5 letters in my name is indeed an M lol...i remembered at primary school we used to have these games where you add and subtract letters from two names as a 'compatibility match'...might be some truth in it after all...?

ps...other theory..maybe certain names are more likely to be matched to certain types of people...'classes' if you please, or cultures, etc...then again, theyre all pretty different people and hardly fit each other's profile! there goes my mar-superiority-theory i suppose

I once worked for a woman who had my same initials,(XX*)
(*not real initials)
and she said she attracted people into her life with this letter all the time.
I made a list of the main people in my life, past and present, and I was surprised at the amount of "X's." :) :?: :!:

One day I was reading the birth announcements in the local paper. A couple in the neighboring town had the same last name as me, and 2 of their 3 children were named the same as my 2 kids. If I had one more, we might have used their 3rd child's name. I just couldn't see myself having a third, though. It would seriously impair my ability to dance!

My grandmother, whose married name was Fox, had the discretion not to call her son Guy, though she liked the name very much. I got it instead (my surname is not Fox)

 Oh goodness gracious me! This made me realise that a former significant love had the male version of my mother's middle name and another one, my sister's middle name

:nope: the things you think about/realise on a Monday evening

Change your name and not your letter,
Change for worse and not for better.

I was told this after my first marriage. I married someone whose last name started with S as mine did and, right, I changed for worse.
So the second time, I married someone with a different last initial and it certainly is a whole lot better.

Okay, I've done a quick check, and none of the significant men in my life -- past or present, good or bad -- shares any initial with me. What does that tell you?

My last BF had the same first initial as me--and it was awful (the relationship, not the initial).
My current has the male version of my middle name, and it's definitely much better.
Maybe it's all a coincidence? I mean, there are only so many names in a given culture...

So a friend of mine has this thing about dating people named Dave. Don't know why, but it certainly makes it easier to address the fellow.

At least she doesn't have to worry about using the wrong name when she, um, cries out in the heat of passion. :)

I'm drawn to the letters T, M and J. I stay completely away from Cs & Gs. I have a love/hate relationship with the letters A, N & R.
