I have come to realize that some of my dance moves are more (or just as) apprecieated by the audience members watching me dance as I am. I'm am not talking flash. Not to be rude, but Im talking about watching the female form move during which times I normally have my eyes closed and its a close basic type of thing (I do open them up to make sure Im not going to hit anyone and that is when I see them). So while dancing, I can feel the move, but when I open my eyes I can see others looking at us..and let me tell you, they aint looking at me! So what do you think? Is that just part of the salsa scene? Am I misinterpreting the sitution? I try to do as little as what I consider flash, so I don't know why else they would be watching. Of course, Im not sure I can blame them. The female form is nice to look at, especially in motion....

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. The audience looking at your female partner while you dance together? To be honest, if I see good dancers around me, I enjoy watching them just as much as dancing. If the woman has an interesting style, I watch her just as much as her partner :) What's wrong with that? You're supposed to make your partner feel the "queen", right?
Hey, after all, the guy's job is to show off the lady...

Right, the guy's the frame and the lady is the picture. Isn't that how it always is? :)

Ummm...I'm kindof confused by this post. What are you interpreting from the situation?
By the title of your post it seems that you are annoyed (offended possibly) that others are watching you.... why? Are you self conscious?

Basically they are watching specific female anatomy parts move...not watching the dance per say...but maybe this is a non-issue as other people are pointing out...I dont care if they watch me or my partner...but they seem to focus on the rear end of my dance partners....

As a female....DEFINITELY a non issue. ;) Who cares...that's the way I look at it. If they aren't grabbing, or slapping my a$$, it's kindof flattering!

seems like you're making the woman look more desirable than she already is.. so the issue , Son1, really, is : why can't I enjoy the view these blokes are enjoying ?"
I guess you can't have the cake and eat it too. Perhaps the dudes watching from the side are thinking, 'Wish i was dancing with her..',
Next time you see the guys admiring the view, just look at them and smile.. like you know what they're upto. Give them the look saying, 'you can see, but you can't touch ! '
what you are also forgetting is the fact that the lady is in your arms (atleast for this one song), and not theirs.. so hopefully that feeling makes up for the lack of the good view.. ;)

I think many of us are used to that  I actually can't imagine not having anyone watching... I'd probably get self-conscious!

I can't speak for everyone else in the scene, but when I watch a couple dance I'm not looking solely at the female and I'm definitely not concentrating on her body parts. I'm watching them as a team, them as connected forms interpreting the music and providing each other feedback.

Doh!
Staring is for the audience, right?
TJ you always complain I don't dance with you. With your rep of groping the follows I might never ask you to dance now.
Yeah, yeah...
Dogpile on tj!
