I googled for something here: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=dancesport+tailsuit+sewing

And 3 out of the 4 results got me DF related stuff, lol! One was from Laura's site, one was from Chris Stratton's site and one was from DF.

My page shouldn't even show up there since it's not actually about anything, but the search results are computed partially as a function of how many times the searched-on word appears on the page and how many words total are on the page.

That's my old Standard partner from four years ago who broke my heart. I should take him off my web site. I will as soon as I get some decent pictures of me with K. :)

You're a knockout, Laura. Very classy. 8) Nice dress, too. I love that color.

And yep. If you google dance, there's a really good possibility you're going to get a DF hit, one way or another. 8)

Awww, thanks pygmalion. I don't look that good anymore though...sigh...that was about 25 pounds ago and four years ago.

I loved the fabric on that dress, it was navy blue jersey with silver lurex threads knitted through it. The terrible thing is that the lurex would "pull" out of the dress from the friction of dancing. I'd have to take little nail scissors and cut off the pulled loops every time I wore the dress.

Oh, and the ironic thing is that I sold it to the woman who was dancing with K. at the time, and now he's dancing with me. It's a small, small, world!

I just read the text on the bottom of Chris' page. You know, the part about finishing the jacket on the way to the comp. Hilarious!! I cannot tell you how many buttons and hems I've completed in the car on the way to an event. I thought I was the only one.

I've been known to finish stoning a dress the morning of the comp. Nothing like dancing in a dress that reeks of damp glue. One time I was making floats the morning of the comp.

I still haven't started on something to wear for my next comp in 12 days. It's a syllabus comp so I need a simple skirt and a top, but I just can't get up the gumption to do it. I'm working on an evening gown for someone who competes in beauty pageants, and even dealing with that has been a major effort. It's not a difficult gown -- I just feel so uninspired these days. Gaaaaah. It's like having writer's block except it's for sewing.

How's the gown coming, Laura? Have you even started it yet?

Oh, you are so sweet. Thank you. I have a really difficult time with my body image as it relates to competitive dancing.
