They were good. All of them. :P
It's an old habit. Back when my ex and I were newly together and so in love, I got into the habit of cooking a big, hot, calorie-filled breakfast every Saturday and Sunday and giving him breakfast in bed. Lucky guy.
Well. The ex is gone, but I still cook breakfast every weekend day. *shrug*
Weekdays, I'm lucky to get an apple on the way out the door.

LOL! I'd forgotten all about that. One of my former dance teachers used to have an arm styling (for men, no less) that she called the cinnamon swirl. WCS, mostly. It looked pretty nice when well-done... which wasn't often.  What cracked me up the most was my friend, J, who was about the manliest man in the studio, but who did the swirly thing best of any of the guys. Darn! Wish I had that on video.

I met someone over the weekend who's son works part-time at Cinnabon's. I asked her if he brings home some of the cinn. rolls. She said "not any more, we are all sick of them!" I can't believe that!!!!

Cinnabon is evil! I can't walk past without getting a roll with a cup of coffee. And I don't even drink coffee. At least, I've weaned myself down to the minis. I used to get the jombo ones every time.

I try to avoid walking past anything that smells so tempting!
I did wean myself off caffeine (my New Year's resolution). I just kept adding more and more decaf to the pot and finally got down to 100% decaf. I have really been sleeping a whole lot better and as a result am a lot less tired during the day.

Cool. So the light coffee approach worked. Nice. Congrats on sticking with that resolution. That's a tough one.
btw, I still haven't seen light coffee in the supermarket here. I guess Texans like their coffee high octane.

Maxwell House has a Lite, I know for sure.
So does Starbucks but that is another place I would rather avoid!

something about being up late that brings out these cravings..
i'll never forget junior year in college, massive Physical Chemistry final, i had failed all the semester tests, but the prof said we can replace those grades with the final exam.
Since I had not a clue about PChem, I decided I would start from scratch. I walk into the library, 24 hours before the exam (3pm) and decided to study the entire PChem textbook. all 500 pages. And every two hours, I would have a cinnabon (cheap variety from the vending machine) and a coffee, for the whole 24 hrs.
And the best part : I got a B in the final ! I'll never forget that magical night  or the next morning.

That's quite an impressive story! I've done things along those lines numerous times in the past five years  but definitely on more sustenance than that! I think I'd crash and burn around 3am if I tried that.

Thank goodness the machine didn't run out of rolls.
Quite impressive, btw. 8)

it was a one time thing. a lot of it was willpower coupled with sugar and caffeine. i probably caused as much damage to myself as I would have drinking 15 vodka redbulls.
i did crash of course. i slept at 5pm on a tuesday evening, and woke up thursday morning, with no memory of PChem. extremely unhealthy...
i don't think i've eaten anything close to a cinnabon since..

Heh. There was a semester when I pulled an allnighter per week. Not fun, but I got into the program I wanted to get into. I don't think I could do that again, though. Getting too old!
I don't know if "no memory of PChem" is extremely unhealthy. In fact, I tend to assume the opposite.
But hey, what a great way to get yourself to dislike something that's actually bad for you! (Ladies, take notice! Want to hate everything fattening? Do what gte692h did!)
j/k!!!!

OK, OK . . . five days of talking abut cinnamon rolls got to me . . . I brought in two dozen cinnamon rolls this AM. Of course, I can't eat them (diabetic), but everyone else can. These are not the flat ones, nor are they like cinnabons . . . they are from a nearby French pastry store, and they are quite different . . . little to no glaze, lots of cinnamon, warm, chewy, but not overpowering . . . great with Starbucks . . .
pygmalion . . . I'd like to know more about that 'cinnamon swirl' WCS move that you mentioned if you any further info or can describe it . . . I haven't heard of it . . .

Vince, that was thoughtful of you, particularly since you didn't have one yourself. I would have found it very difficult to resist.

Wasn't looking for a pat on the back, but "thanks!"
When they talk SO MUCH about things here on the DF . . . it starts to get to me . . . you just can't imagine what I did back a few months ago when Victoria's Secret and bras kept getting talked about

You really don't know? Maybe they're an American thing? :?
They're buns ... um ... kinda like scones, only a bit sweeter and with a smoother, fluffier texture. If you make them the old fashioned way, you make a basic dinner roll dough. Roll it into a rectangular shape about half an inch thick. Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon all over the surface. Then start at one end and roll it into a tube (like a jelly roll.) Then you slice the dough, let it rise, and bake. Nice, semi-sweet rolls. You can ice them if you want or add raisins along with the sugar and cinnamon, if you want. Yum.
Short answer? No. Not body rolls.

Oh, and FYI, I didn't actually like them all that much.

They are definitly an american thing.
And believe you me, when I come to LA, I'll die before I go back without having had at least one of those bad boys.
But you want to know what the worst part is ?
As you have probably guessed (though the hints were scarce and hard to spot) I love Cinamon Rolls.
And we don't get them in France.
A few months back, I walk down a very famous street in Paris, and I catch a hint of cinamon fragance.
My stomach went about 9 feet below ground in expectation (make way for the feast !), and my heart went for the triple lutz (with a twist, thank you very much).
I followed my nose through the crowd, until I came to a ...
Pastry shop !! Right here !!! In Paris !!!! In a street 10 minutes from my home (and 3 from "La Pachanga" ;) )
Already mentaly sorting the content of my wallet and pockets to see how much I could spare on my lust for cinamon, I browed the shop's window, and found nothing that lokked like it could have cinamon in it.
So naturaly, I asked the guy at the counter :
Hi, what's that smell ?
What smell ?
That particular smell that comes from your wonderfull shop (morron)
What ?
That Cinamon smell (stupid ass moron, quit playing with my nerves). Where is it coming from ?
Oh that smell ! Well', it's coming fromo here.
(Don't hit him, don't hit him) I know it's coming from here, I can smell it ! I dont see the pastry it might be in though, so my question is, could you tell me what pastry it's in, please ? (before I punch your nose in so bad it's gona lokk like that cupcake there)
No cake.
What ?!? (breath, breath..)
No, we don't use it in any cakes. Actually, it's a funny story. The neighbouring clothes shops were complaining about the pastry smell, so we had to find something that would please them, and would not be a chemical threatening our products. So we decided that cinamon, being a very sented aroma, would be worth a try.
It seems it's working.
You know, it's weird how... sir ? Sir ? Are you feeling allright ? SIR ?!?
I believe somewhere around that point I fainted. And I have lost any apetite for anything. Food or spiritual. Even physical. Wich is why I have not been around on DF or dancing over the last 6 months or so...[/i]
