Chicago Steppin'
October 19th 2:00-4:30pm
With Damon Stone and Ria DeBiase
Cost $18 in advance (by 10pm October 17th)/$20 at the door.
Spotlight Dance & Fitness (http://www.spotlightdancesport.com)
646 N. Market, Sacramento, CA
(916) 649-DANZ (3269)
Chicago Steppin’ is a regional swing dance form also known as
“Fast Dance”. When the music changed in the Fifties and Sixties
the Lindy Hop changed to match the popular music of the Black
community of Chicago’s South Side. Steppin’, still popular
today, is danced to everything from classic Rhythm & Blues and
Soul, to Funk and Hip Hop.
Damon and Ria are the only teachers in Northern California (and
some of only a handful of instructors in the West) that teach
this exciting and innovative style of dance. Don’t miss this
chance to learn this unique freestyle form of swing dancing.
We will be splitting the workshop up into two sections with a
fifteen minute "Dance and Question" break during the class and
afterwards, to allow you to let the material really sink in.
Any questions about the workshop can be sent via pm or email.
