Cowboy Hip Hop... Well, I like the name! I have never seen it before. Is this the correct step sheet? - http://kickit.to/ld/Report.php3?PHPSESSID=c28e1f83d111d9db54028348d890 37cd&xt=207&n=4934

If so, I'll have to run through it this weekend. If not, do you have the steps written down?

THANKS!

That is a version of it . . . it includes some of the moves, but some are left out or have different names . . . like "the Running Man" move!

The country line dances look like a lot of fun. Unfortunately, I don't know any! I used to know the Boot, Scoot & Boogie line dance, but I forgot how to do it.

I like that contra line dance too . . . and believe it or not, there was once a "partnered" version of it!

Do you have the step sheet for the version you do? If so, would you be willing to share with me (cutest puppy dog eyes possible)...please!

Too fun! Anything that starts out with the running man is alright in my book! :D

Thanks for the steps, Vince! I'll have to work on it and then give it a try when I hear one of the songs.

I must apologize...

I just realized (after reading the description for this board), this is supposed to be for C&W partner related dancing. I'm sorry to have added the line dance pieces here. I'll add them under General Dance Discussion in the future.

yeah. How is it at your place, but in freiburg here it's common to do the jitterbug stroll all together, once an dance evening. In basel is it common to do the jitterbug stroll and the shim sham. All together.

I enjoy the electic slide because I can do it just about anywhere with just about anyone. It seems everyone knows it (or some version of it) and it's just a fun dance. I like that I don't have to think about the movements and I can just enjoy the music and dancing.

there seem to be many versions of it (just slightly different). Anyone knows how come?

Hmm... not sure what's up with the slightly different versions. My guess is it was originally choreographed one way, some came along and decided to do different styling, then others picked up on the styling and someone the various stylings are now taught as the original form of the dance. Just a thought...

The major difference I see is in one version you begin with a right and left grapevine while in another version it's a foot-twist-slide type of thing to the right twice and then to the left twice. Given the name, I would assume the slidey thing - technical term  - is the correct way.

The "Awa-odori", danced in the city of Tokushima on the island of Shikoku during their 3-day summer dance festival. People are not lined up next to each other, rather they form a procession. There is the delicate women's dance and then there is the more raucous and even silly men's dance(which is the one I do- women can do it too!) which is lots of fun and has you pretty sore the next day from crouching down and flailing arms around all night!

Sounds like fun. Can you recommend a site with pictures?

It is a BLAST! Most of the sites are in Japanese, but I think these two have some photos when you access them right away.

SXY was pretty fun, but it died off here, I taught it at Peach State a couple of years ago.
