View Full Version : The Hands

Two hands lost in the sensual cuffed grasp of two lustful lovers about to depart. The last goodbye, where he walks away from her, yet their hands stall the imminent, creating a sensual glide of his fingers through her palm culminating its course at her fingertips just before losing sight of one another. The moment of the last physical goodbye presents one another with an emotional snap felt throughout the body, eventually shooting it straight into each others eyes stabbing the sigh of the heart into the reality of love from fairytale lovers.

It is not so much as the technique as it is the meaning behind the lead transformed into emotional touch. The ability to lead emotions with the mere touch of a hand: that is the key to the absolute perfect lead. That which happens after technique is unable to satisfy the need of a loving soul.

Create a touch as if that last goodbye, one that sparks as she spins with your hand at her waist, one where the cross body lead is lead by a hand that isn’t leading another dancer, but embracing the last love of one’s life. Make her feel every emotion deep inside a heart through those hands, with the care of a mothers grasp to her new born child. A lovers run of his figures through a sleeping-beauty’s face with every care in the universe as not to wake her, one that while she sleeps, she smiles upon.

A touch that whispers I’m yours and is received with a smile that sighs, you are mine. A touch that caresses the loving heart of a lover, a hand that will create a gift of every lead, a gift that will be accepted with an open heart and manifested upon loving souls.

Manage to show her a world of intimate passion she’s yet to see, and witness the surrender of woman upon your arms, the surrender of a soul upon love. Never will hands be the concern of failed connection, for once a lead has turn into love, each and every imperfection is absolute perfection.

Fast or slow, let not the lead lose that which she will come to yearn and you will forever be her loving lead.

I didn't want to steal the thunder of the great advise going on in the "Improving technique" thread created by africana, so here is me version of hands, and leading.

how beautiful :) :) :) wow what a poet!!

I almost don't know how to respond...but when all's said and done we are all just striving to be responsive and attentive to our partners during those few minutes on the dance floor

:D I wish more leads would realise the points that you have made above..

any thoughts guys?? Kinda like a trend that not so many guys respond to your posts that are so poetic.. :P

While I understand how more advanced leads would expect their partners to be able to hold their own, those "sex on dance floor" experiences only come from leads who make me feel like I'm the only living being that exist in the world... those touches and the focus on the partner.. way to go Boriken! :D :ladiesma:

Very nice indeed. Beautifully said Boriken. Something well worth the time taken to compose and to read and digest. Something all too often over looked...

Oh for a dance floor where I could lavish that kind of attention on my dance partner, rather than having to spend so much time just trying to make sure she's kept safe and secure. Certainly I try, and I know from comments past that I succeed to a degree, but having read that I can't but feel that I could try harder.

I'm hopping the next plane to New York... :D

Seriously - it's so nice that someone 'gets' it and understands that a dance is meant to be expressed from the heart, that the emotional side of it is what takes it from "stepping and moving in time" to really dancing.

Just beautiful - keep up the good work Boriken - spreading the word like this can only be a good thing! :D

Was dancing with a girl from barbados on Sunday like that. Half way through she put her head on my shoulder and sighed. :D

Thanks in bunches guys! You truly are too kind!

Dance is a world built upon love; a nirvana, utopia, where material need can truly overtake the fragility of lead and follow holding each-other's hearts...

I can say no more as Sabor has asked not to let all the secrets out.

I'm truly rusty on1, so much so that I don't think I can even keep any kind of decipherable beat. Which means that between your rusty on2 and my non-existent on1 we’ll be right on beat! WEPAAAAAA!!!
