Alright, time to 'fess up! What should you be doing instead of checking the forums???
Not that that should stop you or anything! ;)

Working on my dissertation probably...

I should either be eating something that I can call dinner, reading theatre theory, or revamping a set design story board.
I just got up from my nap (ah, what luxuries!) and I'll soon be off to do two or all of these.
... but I'm just checking the forums first!

Since I'm at work when I read the forums, here's what I have to do.
1) I have a BIG pile of filing that I need to do;
2) I have a HUGE printing project that I don't want to start and
3) I could be organizing my desk because it's a mess.....but am I doing any of these things??? noooooooo! I'm just reading the forums and sending out e-mail jokes......oops, here comes the boss, I guess I'm working after all.

Swing Kitten

Hey now that's not funny.... actually it is... I'm still here actually... finding stuff that I need so that feels good.
I got in trouble here because the catalog computers are hooked up to the internet... so I found a set of call numbers then decide to check the forums "real quick"
... and actually the more frequently you check the forums the fewer posts you have to read... so... it actually saves you time!! ... yeah, I don't buy it either! but doesn't sound good.... ... if only it were true!
pygmalion
10-18-2003, 05:42 PM

Procrastination. My dogma and creed. I should be studying for biology right now. but i'm not. I'm reading the forums every two second in hopes that there's something new, and listening to my roomate THREE ROOMS DOWN FROM ME fight with her boyfriend yet again. It's actually pretty funny. I love it. They yell at me for talking too loud and laughing too loud.
A few minutes ago, I could've sworn she said something like "You wanna hang up? FINE. Let's hang up then!"
-=bonk=-
She's saying it again. as I type. Ah, I love the throes of adolescence!
pygmalion
11-13-2003, 09:12 AM
Adolescence? I thought you guys were in college! Young adulthood. The sad thing is relationship drama doesn't end there. It haunts some of us way into adulthood. Speaking hypothetically, of course.

eh, I'm still 18, so I'm still a teen, so I call myself adolescent. But she's prolly 20... Dunno. I think I'd like to say, judging by their conversation, she's not far out of the throes of adolescence anyways. They fight EVERY NIGHT. I hear about it EVERY NIGHT.
But it's all ok! 'cause I find it infinitely amusing. I'm sure they do too when I fight with my significant other. 8)

Swing Kitten
01-09-2004, 01:52 AM
I'm a big fan of productive procrastination. It goes like this:
you're still procrastinating as usual only instead of watching TV or piddeling around doing nothing and then kicking yourself later-- you're doing something constructive that needed to be done... just not as pressing as the task you should be doing.
I know tons of people do this. Today I put away all our outdoor christmas lights and cleaned the garage :D
what do you do instead of what you ought? any favorite procrastination practices (other than DF)

I should be drying the cat off since I just gave the darn thing a bath....(he went unwillingly mind you)....but the bath was the only thing I could come up with other then my first impulse of ripping all his teeth out. Just a few minutes ago, I opened the front door, and he snuck out......under the bushes he went. I followed......through the wet grass he went, I followed. Under my dad's truck he went, I tried to follow, the pavement was too cold to crawl under...he ran anyways. To the side of the house he went ....I followed, under the fence, ha ha, I dont think so.....so back inside I went and out the back door....he saw me coming waited til I got close, and back under the fence to the front again he went....I went through the side gate......I sat on the steps for a minute.....I noticed our neighbors cat, whom I have rarely ever seen outside, is watching all this as if he was watching some comedy act......cat humor, whatever.....so the cat is back under the darn truck, now I am MAD! After dancing around the truck a few times, I finally caught him by the left front tire, he hisses at me, then attempts to claw at me......ha ha, no front claws for this feline friend......I grab his hind leg...and he is growling and hissing really loud..as if he was in a cat fight with another cat........I could barely pick him up as he contorted his orange hairy self to and from......the back claws got me, and he bit again......oh hell no!!!!!!! I get to the front door, forgetting I had gone out the back....door is locked! I rang the door bell, knowing my dad HAD to get up from his chair, go to the door and unlock it...I thought about going around to the back with him.....I would of been a bloody mess by then......finally once inside, I walked to the kitchen sink to cool "Patrick" off.........(sigh)........................I forgot to mention, Patrick is in indoor cat ONLY, and is afraid of his own shadow, I guess he hit his head and has amnesia....recently he believes he is an outdoor cat.......maybe a pet shrink will rid him of his double personality. If not, and if this behaivior continues.....Patrick will be taking a shower next time in a shower with doors, so he cant get out, LOL!
So, drying the cat is what I should be doing, instead, I am sharing with all of you! (grin) Hope everyones day is going equally well.

Yeh, but if it was a "live" meeting it would be better. I´ve always wanted to say that traditional thing, Hi I´m XXXX, I am salsaholic.

Actually Goa, India has this funny 1/2 hour increment. With daylight savings time Goa is now 9.5 hours ahead of NY time. I think I mis-spoke earlier and Goa was then 10.5 hours ahead of NY time. I'm sure about teh 1/2 hour increment thing and 9.5 hours now as I just yahoo chatted with my mae.

I hate shopping for shoes -- I just don't seem to be able to find shoes that look good and fit well. The only time I enjoy shopping for shoes is when I'm looking for a pair of dance shoes. :D

I'm just sitting here, pining for a way to get to the ballroom to dance, knowing it isn't going to happen for me tonight, the car is in the shop having the oil changed and a tune-up (and that isn't a 1 hour thing here, ugh! Sometimes I do really miss the States.) I can totally feel the rhythm of the music way out at my house, quite a distance from the ballroom.
I keep thinking if I could just make myself go to bed, then tomorrow would come faster which would mean we'd get the car back sooner, and then tomorrow night would come quicker and I could go dancing again! It's been a whole week since I have danced!!! Last week I only danced once and next week I'll only dance once! Waaaaahhhh!!! January isnt' going to be any better, my mil will be out to visit for a few weeks and I don't see myself getting out much during her visit (tho I will make it a priority to go out at least once!!! *fist hits desk*)

I hope so motardmom! :together: Now, if I was visiting we could dance cha cha cha every day at your place. And you could back lead me or lead me in all the ballroom dances you like and I don't know. :)

Ahhh.... it's almost 10:30. I know, not all that late. It is for me, tho, when I know I'll get jumped awake at 6 by my kids.

Tomorrow where? It's Christmas Eve here, Santa is showing up on NORAD, and I need to hit the grocery store for candy for Christmas stockings and a few groceries. That's it tho. I do have a few more gifts to buy, but those will wait. One of them will be given mid- next week, the rest will be sent back to the States in January, so no rush. I'll wait for the stores to empty out a little before I really get busy with that.

Yep, and right now I got Dancer leading the way, but Ms. Claus says when I get over to Ohio I might need to have Rudoloph steering the sleigh. ;)

I really should stop DF-ing soon and go to the mail depot to pick up my packet before it shuts for Christmas... The walk (about 50 minutes) is going to be interesting, with all this snow...
Then I have to do some grocery shopping before meeting up with my Christmas guest at the train station. Busy day ahead!

You have snow in Scotland for Xmas! Lucky you!
If I had only bought a plane trip for a jaunt over to Scotland. It would be fun taking a romantic walk through the snow to pick up the mail with Macmoto. Maybe the packet is the gift I sent you?
Hmmm ... I could always get the reindeer to pull my sleigh over your way, but I'm afraid this wouldn't give me enough time to deliver presents to all the kids. :(

I'm procrastinating getting my act together today. I've just been so lazy since Christmas, it's hard getting going. LOL I guess I have actually gotten a lot done today if you sit down and make a list on paper, it just doesn't look like much especially when you compare it to what there is left. LOL I/we still need to go thru the kids' toys and pick out what will be given away and find homes for the new stuff. There's another procrastination - should have gone thru the toys before the new toys came. My kids were nagging me to do it (amazing, huh!) and I just didn't get that far. Well, back to digging out from the Christmas mess..... *sigh*

Nah. New Years Resolutions don't work for me. Goals? Yes. But cold turkey resolutions are a recipe for disaster, for my psyche. They work well for some people, but make me feel like a failure when I inevitably slip before Febuary 1.

I'm going to leave now, it's time to stop procrastinating and get going with the things I need to do today. It's raining, I am always better at procrastinating when it's dreary outside. I'd rather just curl up with a good book....

I should be cleaning
I should be calling my mom & dad and tell them how much I miss them & love them
but i went out dancing... called my mom & dad on the way to the dance, and i'm going to sleep now and going to clean tomorrow.... or put it off til the weekend.... I was gone for work all day and then dancing, so there's not much to clean anyways.
