What are you or your group doing to celebrate or recognize National Ballrom Dance week, which I understand is in September? Our group has performed at our local shopping mall, but would like to hear other ideas. Oh, we also have a live band at our monthly ballroom dance, as opposed recorded music which is what we have usually. Here is a link with more info about last year's week which comes from the USABDA.

Thanks!

I have absolutely no idea. This is the first I've heard of it.

Do you have any idea who one should contact to perform at a shopping mall? That sounds like a fun thing to do and a great way to stir up interest.

I wasn't involved in that so can only guess that there is probably a special events person at the mall that you would need to contact, or maybe a public relations person.

Well, it's also Pollution Prevention Week ( www.p2.org/p2week/index.cfm ), so I feel really horrible having to choose between being kind to Mother Earth or promoting Ballroom Dance. This is quite a dilemma.
(Also, it's my birthday that week).

I bet this is one you can resolve comfortably. ;)
As for me, I have no idea, yet. Last year I did did a performance at the local studio with a foxtrot to "Beyond the Sea". Don't know that I'll try anything like thta this year.
