I apologize immediately to the non-US residents... but those of us who do reside in the states have a holiday weekend and I am just wondering if any one has any special dance events planned? (besides, I'm convincing my parents to take me to a city, so maybe I can choose based on the best event posted  ) I know a group from Indy is headed to Chicago, so that has already been proposed as one of our possible destinations.

Well, the 2nd of July is my birthday!
I will be doing the very thing I love most:
teaching 3-4 hours of privates, practicing with my wife and then performing that night.

When people ask me if I ever get tired of working with beginners or if my job is in any way unpleasant, I just say, "Yep. Another day in the coal mines." :)

So, far only a demo planned by moi.

Moving on the 3rd of July, but barbeque etc on teh 4th and maybe something on the 5th...celebrating my friend's dad's birthday. I must put on some salsa music and give them the full sagitta treatment. Last time I danced I was very modest, but this time I want to do besito, lots of veils, some really close dancing...I want the place to smoke!! :)

Is Houston too far for you? If not, there will be some excellent performers from all around Texas and also from L.A., New York, etc., for the "Houston Salsa Convention" that weekend:

Let me know if you're headed this way!

Sunday, July 3rd:

Salsa on the Parkway Performances by Tito Rojas, Frankie Negron, Orquesta del Barrio. 20th St & Ben Franklin Pkwy. 2-8 p.m.

(I copied this out of a newspaper guide to the festivities. I don't remember hearing Tito Rojas mentioned when the local DJ David Ortiz was talking about this on his show, but maybe I missed it.)

Yay for summer dancing! Boo for my allergies.

Also, I'm looking forward to a four day weekend. Amen to that, though there will eb a lot of moving associated with that...

Happy early birthday, DanceMentor!

In terms of dance events this coming weekend... It'll be all about the moving for me. We should, hopefully, be done moving everything so I'll spend the weekend unpacking and working on planting our lawn.

The dance part... Once I get everything set up in my dance room, I intend to dance the days/nights away!

I'm going to have a house full of guests. No idea whether it'll be fun or not. But organized dancing probably won't happen til next weekend, at least. :?

Have fun with the guests! But bummer on the non-dancing weekend... You'll have to sneak some in whenever you get the chance!
