Latin: Louis & Julie, they are just amazing!!!!!!
Standard: Chris & Hazel, GG & Ieva (obviously, can't see them dance together anymore, but I still love the way she looks), Jonathan & Katusha, although recently I started to like Victor & Anna more...... :wink:

Latin: Slavik and Karina are awesome; Can't wait to see Val and Valeria dance - she has always been a favorite of mine
Standard: I really liked Victor and Anna when I saw them in their first comp together (Haven't seen them since though:( )
Smooth: It's all about Steve and Larinda and I am not just saying it because she's on this forum - always felt like that. I've always felt they were underscored; I love that they do basics and not just flash and trash that smooth has become lately...
Rhythm: I really liked Adrianna Chessa (hated her partner though); I also liked Brian and Kristina the one time I saw them dance at OSB.

I really like Eugene and Maria.

of standard couples... oh so hard to choose... I love so many couples. Recently saw a video of William and Alessandra tht I really liked. Of course I love Jonathan and Katusha. I wish I have seen more of Giampiero and Ieva. And now dying to see Giampiero and Frantsiska.
Always love Luca and Lorraine and Timothy and Joanne.
I really want to see Mirko and Alessia.

of amateurs the current Blackpool champions are great: Domenico and Gioia. And my very favourite couple (of course I've only seen videos and pictures) Paolo Bosco and Silvia Pitton. They do all those flashy "crowd pleasing steps"... I really like :lol: :lol: :lol:

True... but Hanna doesn't dance with Paul anymore, so it depends if we're asking about "of all time" or of active dancers (as in at least still doing shows together). I uess it also depends on what country you're basing the original post on. "The" four categories could be Latin, Standard, Street Latin, and New Vogue from an Australian perspective for example! :wink:

i'll talk about Rising Stars since i frequently end up watching these rather than the Open pro events. Also, it seems to me that the Open events are usually decided before they begin - the judges know who the top-rated couple in the field is, and they usually win even if they didn't dance the best on that particular evening. Rising Star, OTOH, seems like a little more of a crapshoot, a little more of an actual competition. Only a *little,* though.

Rising Star Latin:

Cheryl Burke/Jose Decamps (she's mesmerizing and stylish. I think this couple probably has a very bright future in the very near future.)

Lydia Petrigova/Alexander Senko (such efficiency of movement and very precise technique - and she's got a very natural expression, a rare quality in Latin.)

Christian Baerens/Kristina Staykova (totally changed my opinion on paso doble - theirs is breathtaking.)


Rising Star rhythm:

Bree Watson/Decho Kraev (well-matched pair - elegant and long)

Luis Grijalva with Anya (also very well-matched, but the opposite of Watson/Kraev - grounded, powerful, earthy. Anya has more flexibility than most, but they *get* that rhythm isn't about just lines. Legs like pistons, both of them. A very sexy couple.)

Four categories... how do you define them???

Pro Standard: I love Timoty and Joanne, exuding elegance and kindness. Superbly nice people too. Victor and Anna are also wonderful.

Pro Latin: I just saw - again - Max and Yulia, and they were awesome. They grew up to be true world class competitors; in my opinion Paul and Olga were very bland in comparison.

Pro Smooth: I love the elegance and balance of Nick and Lena, and I really enjoy watching Christian (Clayton) with Kathryn (Vaughn). I think they have a bright future ahead.

Pro Rhythm: Toni and Inna are great when they are 'on', and I like Michael Neal with the new girl (Danielle) - they are good. I also enjoy Brian and Kristina - a bit too much for me at times, but somehow they embody 'rhythm' for me

Is that what you meant by 'four styles'??? :roll:

but one thing here, i not really like victor de silvia may be i just not interesting ehough in the show dance. i hope can see hanna again in the latin dance one day, she is so amazing so is beata....
