Question about USA Dance Regional Qualifiers

Sorry I am so full of questions today!

Has there been an announcement about the dates and locations of the regional qualifiers for the 2006 USA Dance Nationals yet? I can't seem to locate any information about the Northeast regional on the USA Dance homepage or via a Google search.

Thanks if anyone knows. (We live in Maryland and I am trying to decide between going to the Southeast--which I know are in Atlanta in October-- or the Northeast regionals.)

I haven't seen anything about any of the other regional qualifiers.

The Southwest Regional is up in the air...it was supposed to be in Anaheim (Orange County, near Los Angeles) in June 2006, but they are having problems with the venue. We're not sure what is going to happen next...one possibility is that the 2005 California State Amateur DanceSport Championships that NorCal is hosting this November will be turned into the Southwest Regionals. Stay tuned for details. My hope is that they get things worked out down in Orange County because they put on good comps and it's SoCal's turn to benefit from not having to travel to regionals :)

You're correct. An official announcement has not yet been made about which comps will be regional qualifiers.

I just got word this afternoon that the issues with the possible venue for the 2006 Southwest Regionals has been solved, and so they will be held in Orange County (Anaheim I think) in June. The exact date will be forthcoming.

The 2006 SouthWest Regionals are being targeted for June 24, 2006 in Anaheim, California. Note that this is NOT a firm date. It is only the target date for the event. As soon as it is firmed up, it will be put onto the USABDA website.

I know I am going to be envious of all you who are at Nationals this year, so I'm trying to plan a solid comp schedule for myself for next year so I won't have to be so envious!

I would love to go to the 2006 Nationals in California...we'll have to see if that is feasible with my three-year-old. (I'd love to take her out with us, but then what do we do with her while we're competing? One thought is that maybe my Stanford alum sister could be persuaded to come with us....)
