Please look around you and "report" back
It seems to me that a lot of women in London are pregnant! I know nine women who are pregnant (a tenth & eleventh gave birth about a month ago  ) and everywhere I look around me, I just see pregnant women! I was with a friend (pregnant) today and even she commented on the number of pregnant women she was seeing, so I knew I was not imagining things.
Is there "something in the water" I need to know about? Did "something happen" a few months ago, like a power cut, that resulted in all these pregnancies?

We have had quite a few outbreaks in US because of the hurricanes...

Not sure if it's only London. Everyone in my company is taking maternity and paternity. My director just had a baby, my VP told us she's pregnant about 3 weeks ago... THey try to scare me saying it's contagious...

Yes, I was curious to see if it was more of a "worldwide phenomena" In which case, it can't be all due to hurricanes, plus, if my maths is correct, a lot of the women look as if they will give birth between September and January. Perhaps it was the tsunami that gave the "wakeup"/mortality call? Or something else?

re women tricking men into commitment :bkick:
It could also be MEN tricking women into "commitment" . It has been known to happen
So, is there a "mini" baby boom in Cairo?

 maybe this is worth a new thread, but I will digress for a moment
Men have tricked women into "commitment" for whatever their reasons may be...
- status, social standing, career prospects
- "creature" comforts, unable to live "alone", convenience
- expanding of kingdoms/for peace/protection from a warring lord or king (ancient times  )
- money
- citizenship
- the family business (Okay, that one may have come from an old "Mills & Boon" story  )
- to cover their sexuality
- to prevent the woman from testifying against them in a court case (where the law does not allow the woman to testify for/against her husband)...
- to start a family so that they could inherit from the family Will (okay, that one may have also been an old "Mills & Boon" story  )
- for sex
So there...

Yes, it does go BOTH ways, and not just one way as Sabor is suggesting, purely as bait   I notice he hasn't responded to the question of whether there is a baby boom in Cairo. I wonder if he is out doing an analysis

Purely coincidental, dear Pacion. Or perhaps people are dancing more, and are thus driven to do sexay things. 8)

Three women I know quite well (two neices and a friend) had this year- or will have shortly - twins!
So I don't know what was in that water or the air last fall.

Interesting you should say that. These are not dancers (to my knowledge). They are people I see in the street/"career women"... something is definitely "up"

It's because they don't know how to dance, lol.
Dancing leaves precious little time for any horizontal efforts. :P It's only when you take a break from dancing.... Ask me how I know this....

I will agree with DancingMommy. If you are a dancer, chances are you don't have time to hit the sack. :P
Interesting about career women, Pacion. Perhaps it's just some sort of age crisis that hits career women and they feel they have to become mothers?

Hmm, not sure about the age crisis - going on purely what I see, there is a huge age spectrum. Incidently, just heard about three more women this week who are expecting (all between September and October   ), the media are speculating that Britney Spears will have twins AND there are rumours that Prince Edward and his wife are also expecting (but these are unconfirmed rumours  )
One of the three women I heard about this week - I mentioned to her husband about this "mini baby boom" and he seemed to think there was indeed one!
