My wife and I are attending and competing with our club team, we may also compete in novice traditional. We have never competed at this level of competion (such a large contest) , so we are apprehensive at best!

You all knock 'em dead with your dancing . . . I'll be thinking of you, but not all the time . . . we have a competition in San Jose this weekend!
Let us know how you did . . . not how you placed, just how well you danced!

Kewl . . . as always, I'm looking forward to seeing you both. Maybe now we can get those dances in????
I could swear that in Arizona, you said you couldn't make it . . . even though it was your old stomping grounds . . . or close to it???
Are you competing this time Vince?
If I do, I'm only doing a handful of dances as a qualifier for Las Vegas . . . would also have to have a second comp . . . Albuequerque, Dallas, or San Diego.
How about you??? Wayne???
I'll compete if I can get into my comp pants . . . LOL . . . I'll scratch if I can't!!!
I can fit into my swing pants, but not the others!

How did your competion go? Hope things went well for you.
Alas, we did not do well at all. (sigh) about two measures into our Novice Traditional routine, my wife went blank. She could not remember our routine, does not remember even hearing the music. Stage fright. To the max. LOL! She starts turning outside instead of inside, does a couple of other weird things. Me, I am trying to catch up with her physically cause she's wandering all over the place, bring her back into the routine, and figure out what the h#%# to do in the meantime! So, what few dancing skills I had went completelhy to crap. It was a mess! It's okay though, she had NEVER done anything on that large of a scale, and she got out there. Given her background, that was a huge accomplishment. Given my background (not dance) I was just happy to be there. Our team took third , or last, however you want to look at it. I thought it went better than that, but of course, being IN the dance, I could not see what others were doing. So, whatever. It's all subjective anyway. If anybody there could make any positive suggestions or critical reasons why we may have place last, I would appreciate it. It will take a while for the DVD's to arrive.
Anyway, It was a great weekend with lots of social dancing, good workshops, Fantastic music. Nice hotel. Sidenote: we ate breakfast twice in the hotel. Expensive in my book. $16 per person. Great food, but for breakfast? Went to the West End. Had fun, food, drinks. What more could youi want for a dance weekend!

The dancing was incredible! Late night was a blast, the people incredible.
Definitly one I'm going back too.
It was weird though because it normally takes me a week after an event to start feeling improvements and changes in my dancing...so having been to Summer Hummer the weekend before, I could feel myself gaining more control over my body during spins and improving my connection. One more week of this insane growth spurt to go.
