The American Saddlebred World's Grand Championship Horse Show is being videocasted (with sound!) LIVE on the web!

Look for the BEST to start Saturday night, 7 pm. When the Five Gaited Stake time arrives, cheer Boucheron on! He's the Little Gelding that Could (and did! And we hope he does again!). A shy, timid little horse he was, and one of his first shows, he was so overwhelmed and scared, he just flipped out and bolted right back out of the arena. Last year, he WON. This year, let's hope he can hang on. I'll find pics of hm soon :D

This is why I have two emotional black eyes- this show, and the one I didn't get to enter.

I gave up attending this event so that I could attend the "one chance in a lifetime- again" National show... as a competitor. Both are very sentimental shows for me. I've been to both as a competitor and a spectator, and the ancestors of one of my most beloved (and departed) horses plaster the wall at Freedom Hall in Louisville, KY. At the other show, Ickis came out as a hot little upstart... the politics were slanted against him, and he got an honorable mention (which is first loser). We came back together, and the politics were slanted against ME, not HIM. He got a third. This last time was with me on a different horse, a fresh start, and a chance at a lot of "water under the bridge that has burned" redemption- long story. I wanted to tie up a loose end and complete a circle, then bow out.

It hurt very much to be deprived of both of these for the stupid reason that a man simply didn't know the English language well enough to be specific on something that could impact hundreds of competitors in the same boat as me (I?).

So, while I'm glad the stress of competition has been alleviated, I really miss the clean tack, the lights, the live band, the crowd, the mornings of bumping into people you danced naughty with the night before while you're washing your horses in the racks at the end of the barn, etc. etc.

I think it's why I don't like to compete, and why watching is always a sweet & sour experience for me.

Wow. Sounds like competitions are similar, no matter what type. Politics. :( :?

Any chance you'll go next year?

Not sure I want to... the show secretary is a real bytzj.

Maybe though. (Long day, no marzipan)

Ive been doing ok lately! Someone in my city found out who I was and took advantage of me, I felt violated and angry. None theless Im going back to my private dance class for the first time in 2 months tonite. Im going to wear which ever black leotard I feel like wheather it looks sexy on me or not, and do my best. If any older girls give me a hard time because of it I will still try to do my best, and LEARN! Im not concerned with my dancewear any more. I feel comfortable and feminine wearing whatever I choose. Hell, Ill wear a thong over my unitard just to get attention if I have too (hee hee). Id love to hear from all of you again soon, THANK YOU!!!
