I just finished publishing a newsletter to my subscribers
and there's an article that has received a very good response.

    It's titled: "Are you afraid?"

I think it's something everyone has experienced at some point
and it's very well worth the read...

To read it, just go to:

After reading it, please come back here and post your thoughts.

I really enjoyed the article, salsarhythms. It touched on a lot of things that people don't often think about. Like, if you usually dance with your teacher or a few specific people, it can be difficult to adjust to a different-feeling lead or follow.

Also, you stressed how much better it is to do the basic steps, have fun, and make your partner feel and look good, than it is to do fancy steps and make everybody miserable.

I really enjoyed it. Even the shameless plugs!  Gotta check out that course of yours one of these days.

    Thanks again.

    Good info here . . .

A topic on this came and went in Dance Forums . . . many of the responses seemed to say that they wanted a little more than just the basics!
I would say . . . adjust to the level of the follower (unless they are better and you cannot adjust up), start with basics to feel her connection and centering, then build on that . . . but most of all, have fun and do make them look and feel good!

    Vince, great point...

Adjusting to your partner is always a good idea.
