Can someone please explain to me the difference between syllabus categories: for example regular silver, closed silver, and open silver.

Is it correct that a closed category is one result for all dances at the end, while open category is 1 result per dance? What else is different in these 3 categories?
    Thank you.

For single dance events (each dance is awarded individually):
    pre-silver - intermediate silver - full silver
These are proficiency levels for silver level dancers and is restricted to an approved silver syllabus.

    open silver
This is a division for silver level proficiency dancers who want to try open choreography.

For multi-dance events (all dance scores are combined to result in one award):
closed silver is for silver level dancers and is restricted to syllabus.
open silver is for silver level dancers and open choreography is allowed.
