I am getting some questions about visiting Buenos Aires to attend CITA, a tango congress, in March. I tend to avoid going to Buenos Aires when there are big congresses, and even then, don't go to those milongas, because I want to meet and dance with more porteno/as, not so much people from my own country who are attending/learning at a congress. I broke that rule during the Queer Festival, and I had a lot of fun. So, what are your experiences? What did you like/not like from attending Congresos in Buenos Aires? While there, do you go to other milongas or only the ones endorsed by the congress? I am thinking about returning to BsAs in March, mainly as a tour guide for those attending, but will most likely avoid the CITA related events myself.
