learning rumba...hips forward, into your partner, in, in, in, yes, yes, yes...

My coach keeps on calling me an "object" while looking at my partner. Then he looks at me and clarifies that, of course, I'm a beautiful object.
He also mentioned once that leading me was like driving a Tercel rather than a Ferrari (which he of course prefers).... lol
    Gotta love him!

that's really funny. In a instructional video with Bryan Watson and Karen Hardy, Bryan talks about quality of movement comparing Karen to a Rolls-Royce rather than a pinto.

A bit double edged - engineered, smooth, comfortable, classy sure, but also heavy, ostentatious, slow to respond... Maybe great for standard but I might have expecte a latin dancer to prefer a pintos... small pert, nippy and quick on its little feet. Then again, its not a mini...

There are so many funny things that my coaches told me. I cannot remember all of them, but here are few of them:

" Dancing is a vertical expression of a horizontal desire." he said.
    "Ok" I answered
    "So...I don't feel you!"

    Another my coach tells me:

"This dance is very sexy. You need to have orgasmic moments in it. "

And once I was explaining to a guy how to dance jive and I said to him: "Do not dance on your heels. Use your balls"

Considering the origins of jive, that's not too bad a metaphor, actually. :D Must remember that if I ever try jive.

That's Maserati ;-) Here's a picture of you then (the GranTurismo version of you anyway... you have many incarnations as a Maserati):

I just came to the US and my English was not good. Well, after that I learned not to say such things anymore. Now I would say use the balls of your feet.
