Great! Baby steps.
I am sort of having issues with that, too. For a second, I was beating myself up over it because I am around a lot of experience.
I mentioned this to my private instructor. She said even 3 months, I was new.
And, if you think about it, this is A LOT of stuff. I have had every basic in the book thrown at me, as I am sure you have. Basic East Coast Swing, Cha Cha, rhumba, waltz, foxtrot, a smattering of Argentine tango. Combine that with 5th positions for some, spins, movement, lead, AND keeping a beat when your legs do not have it memorized! Those are supposedly SIMPLE things. Simple indeed, lol!
I think the best thing to do is not stop and fake it till you make it. Getting back to pattern quickly. THEN go back and practice with the private so you will not have to fake it.
Sounds easy... Now, if I can do it.. that is the real trick.
