OK I think it'd be fun if we each take a modern non tango band and then say which of their tunes is the track you'd most like to dance to. Or which track you think you could dance to.

I'll start at the letter A : Abba. I think you could do something with "My love my life". (and maybe "One man one woman"? - unfortunately I only have the "Mamma Mia" album..)

(BTW this thread is not supposed to inflame our Golden Age colleagues - dont post if you dont want to!!)

    Oh, jeez...where to start...???

"Temptation" by Diana Krall. (Fun for getting down and dirty or, alternatively, sexy as all get-out.)

Crap...will have to pull up iTunes and see what I've got.

It's a good thing that you put this in here, otherwise I might have had to lecture you about how this really isn't tango.

OK, here's one that I like, Flor de Luna (AKA Moonflower) by Carlos Santana.

Here is where I hang my head in shame. I went to a Eurovision party last Saturday night and yep, the entry from the Ukraine would make a wondeful non-tango dance track.

    But...

The entry by Slovenia (didn't get past the semis) was even better. Four violinists doing a very good piece that could be used for the next Bond film.

(p.s. come back Tezza, all is forgiven:eek:)

You may need to narrow that description down a bit.

Good stuff so far but I guess I was heading a little more left field than this. Pick a band that you dont think anyone has yet found a tango-able track from and give us your suggestion. I'll let you have it if it there is a tango equivalent by one of the electro-tango outfits.

Im assuming DB that you have actually danced tango to Stairway?

Tango hereje - The Mozart tango players

I can't put a link here - not allowed yet, but you can google it.
Track 6 (Mozart Tango) is my favourite.
