The Reno Dance Sensation -Swing and Salsa Championships and Show; March 25-28, 2004 in Reno, Nevada.

Our philosophy is simple; we want to produce a dance event that will be a unique, fun, and an unforgettable experience for all. We are working very hard to provide a professional, well-organized, friendly, extremely fun, and memorable annual dance event. Some of our key goals for the event; First, to give everyone the most "bang for their buck." Second, we want to introduce West Coast Swing, Lindy, and Salsa to the general public through our spectacular Saturday evening show featuring top singing and dancing performances. Third, to hire the "Best of the Best" for instruction and offer 54 workshops, all included with a full event pass. Fourth, to offer a huge vendor trade show for dancers to purchase dance related and non- dance related products and services. Finally, to bring three dance communities, West Coast Swing, Lindy, and Salsa, together for socialization, competition, and fun times.

    "All That" & "Southern Belles"

As recently seen on ABC's Dance Fever, Finalists "All That" and "Southern Belles" will be doing a special first time performance during "The Show."

    54 Workshops Included

With the purchase of a full event pass ($110), you can attend as many of the 54 workshops as you want.
These workshops are taught by the best performers and instructors in the world.

Special Paid Workshops Series - HURRY!!! SELLING FAST!!!

We are proud to feature two special paid workshops programs. A Teachers and Judges Training Program and a Special "Best of the Best" workshop program. Only the most qualified and respected instructors will be teaching these classes.

Is either of your paid workshops aimed at students, or are both teachers/pros only?

I think I'm going to go to this, and I'm looking for a couple or three female roommates to share a suite. Think event-long pajama party! It'll be way fun! Anybody interested? PM me, and let's talk. :D

    From the organizers:

    Plan Your Transportation Soon!
One of the main reasons for choosing Reno, NV for the Reno Dance Sensation was because of the ease of getting to there. There are many transportation choices such as, airlines, train, charter buses, and car.

If you are flying into to Reno for the event, please consider booking your flights as soon as possible. I have found that booking flights on airlines websites when they are offering web specials is the cheapest way to fly. If you book early, you can find flights on the west coast for $75 - $125 RT and $199 - $250 from just about everywhere else. We are happy to announce that we have obtained discounts from Southwest Airlines and America West Airlines for flights into Reno (RNO). If you book with Southwest Airlines, please use the discount code (T0362) and for America West Airlines, use eCertificate (AP3537) when booking your flights. You must call the airline to use these codes.

    Sincerely,

    Chuck, Dez, and John

This is for everyone wondering about the Teacher Training & Special Intensives...

The only ones geared towards teachers are the paid Teacher Training Classes. The Special Intensives are just that, small classes (limited size) where the instructor is going to treat you like a serious dancer. These classes are not for people who are "just hobby-ists" but those who are willing to work hard mentally and physically. They are not "advanced" level classes, but if you just want to pick up some new moves/styling, meet people or have a good time in class, the 54 free workshops are for you. If you would be satisfied having an experienced professional spend an hour breaking down the fundamentals of your dance and drilling you in them backwards and forwards, then the Special Intensives will be right up your alley. If you are ready and willing to operate out side of your comfort zone then the Special Intensives may be for you.

Thanks for the suggestions. Actually, the special intensives sound like my regular lessons.  And that's my preference, actually. I'll take a look at the schedule, and start making plans.

    Thanks. :D

RENO HILTON ROOMS ARE NOW SOLD OUT!!!
Our room block for the Reno Hilton is now Sold Out for Friday and Saturday night. We have sold out much earlier than we expected and we want to thank everyone for booking early. The Hilton is taking a waiting list.

The good news is that we have obtained room blocks are other nearby hotels. The Airport Plaza Hotel and La Quinta are less expensive; the Siena Hotel Spa Casino is $89; all overflow hotels offer free shuttle service to/from the Reno Hilton, so transportation is NOT and issue.

Visit the Hilton Online Registration System...

    OVERFLOW HOTELS
The Best Western - Airport Plaza Hotel is the closest overflow hotel to the Reno Hilton. As mentioned above, this hotel offers free shuttle service to/from the Reno Hilton. The room rates are $69 standard / $89 business. You must call the hotel and mention "Dance" to receive the special rates. Phone: 775-348-6370, Phone: 800-648-3525.

La Quinta Inn Reno is also close to the Hilton and offers free shuttle service to/from the Hilton. This is a very nice hotel is our lowest cost hotel at $58 per night. It also includes a free continental breakfast. This is a GREAT opportunity for anyone looking to save a little money and stay at nice hotel. We are please to announce that we have obtained a room block at the Siena Hotel Spa Casino. Please visit www.sienareno.com for more information on this hotel.

I make no promises at all about how long the rooms here will be available... I'd highly recommend if you are even thinking about attending, check the hotels. Most have a 24 hour cancelation period. You should reserve a room and if you decide you can't make it you have about eight weeks to make a decesion. Better to book and cancel without charge than sleep in the lobby. :D
