I think trading cell phone numbers might also be a good idea. Being as this is my first congress though I don't really have a comprehension of how big this is going to be.

well, for one, we could all post our picture, or pm them to each other; that's how i met beto. i saw him walking by in the hotel lobby and recognized him from a wee photo. also, if everyone is staying at the marriott, i think meeting in the lobby wouldn't be too difficult, likely in the morning or early evening after workshops/before evening shows on friday or saturday. in my experience cell phones aren't the best way to contact each other..mine stayed in my room.

Introductions are what I do. If all those people happen to be with me, you'll meet them. :)

I have to admit that was one of the cooler things about the LA Congress last year and how we met. :)

    I agree! :)

Well, my pic is in the album somewhere (probably lost wayyyy down the bottom of the pac given the time gone by since I last posted any pic or message), so if you got time to spare

As far as cell-phones go, it's a good idea, except for those of us coming from abroad : phones won't work on american network :?

And for the Mariott, well, since I'm probably going to have breakfast by the pool on Starbucks' scones, I guess I won't be too hard to spot 8)

I'll make sure Beto introduces all us DC folk to you.

I'll be at the Marriott, but I plan on either sleeping in or site-seeing during the day, so I'm skipping the workshops.

That's my plan too. At one point or another I will be making introductions as I see people around and/or before they head out to do their own things. However I might do what Lita suggested:

    I like this idea! :D

You mean there are going to be workshops too? darn it, I only bought the evening pass, looks like I'll have to pass on the workshops as well.

You're not gonna miss a whole lot. However the bad thing about the night pass is that you can't visit Salsaland (Hollywood Park Casino where all workshops, vendors, night performances and social dancing take place) during the day.

I never take the workshops! did it once and didn't learn squat

hey, maybe we should go to the grounchy Burger place on Century at 4 am after one of the nights is over :p

That or Denny's. Wherever it's less crowded as salseros don't sleep and I know it's gonna be hella packed at most diner's and restaurants at 4 and 5 a.m.

Oh you know it's not just a local thing. I've done the "eating at 4am" thing with salseros in San Francisco and Los Angeles and it's a lot of fun!
