I went to La Pachanga ( and it was excellent. If Lita reads this thread he could certainly give you some clues about where to go Salsa dancing in Paris as he lives there. Also, is an excellent web site that has current listings for all the partner dance classes and social dances in Paris.

Have fun dancing in Paris! It so beautiful there :D

The web site is great for Swing dance ( and Argentine Tango (, but for Salsa dance ( some information is updated and some is not (then no longer true) and some is lacking.

I recommend the web site and its web forum (or

In Paris one good thing is that you can take dance lessons ("cours de danse" in french) and go out dancing in many salsa styles, for example what is called there "salsa cubaine" (that is Cuban style (Casino)) and "salsa portoricaine" (that is cross-body-lead slotted salsa, with the choice of LA or P2 or ET2).

There are clubs or parties mainly targeted to "salsa cubaine", there are clubs or parties mainly targeted to "salsa portoricaine", there are clubs or parties with both.

Some clubs offer salsa several nights a week, and in that case each one is different (DJ, dancers' levels ...), so take care of the day of the week.

Hi Meagalita. Check out Valerie and Cliford of Salsabor ( They are great!

I just googled and could not find much uptodate info, but another couple I suggest you look out for are Sébastien et Clémence of Salsamba dance company. The last I saw of them, they were mixing salsa and samba and very good teachers.

Another teacher to look out for is Felipe Polanco. The last I heard, he was based in Paris (but doing various events around Europe). I just had a look for his website and if my french is anything to go by :? it is not working... He has a very elegant style.

um, boriquen, the amount of soul that shines through in your posts is enough for me to welcome you with open (sisterly) arms. and i've had the pleasure of meeting rob..heck, africana, too..i'm going to check into the availability of my friend's apartment; maybe we can have our own little salsa vacation. i'm not sure yet if i'll be there for the paris congress as i need to decide whether to go back to CA for the LA congress in may, but i'll likely stay there and i would love to meet some more salseros/salseras!

    more Paris tips....

Hey meagalita, sounds like you got lots of good info here! Not sure where you'll be, but down in the Montparnasse area there is always plenty of salsa - Pachanga is awesome because they have something every single night of the week! Though, as Alias mentioned, the crowd changes by day, and often reflects the lesson thats given. So for example expect more "puerto-rican" salsa after a puerto-rican lesson... when I was there, Mondays and Thursdays were especially good. La Coupole draws huge and diverse crowds on Fridays, late into the night (a proper parisian nightclub... :)

Enjoy Paris, it's a magical city, and keep me posted about this reunion... I am always looking for excuses to go back!
