I am currently researching a trip to Colombia for tourism and dancing.

It looks like Cali and Medellin are better for Salsa, but the danger level looks higher than I want. I was thinking about Bogota and Cartagena. Has anyone been there?

As far as my recent travels are concerned. I just returned from Rio de Janiero. Very little Salsa. Brazilian Samba is completely different than "Arthur Murray Samba" but alot of fun. That trip was one of my favorites so far, but Rio was not cheap.

Buenos Aires has excellent Salsa dancing, but I only found clubs open on the weekend. Club Azucar in Abasto is generally considered to be the best.
