    Hello everybody,

I have two weekly milongas within walking distance (less than 10 minutes) of my apartment, one on Friday and one on Sunday. To dance tango, I have bought practice shoes. Is there any issue to walk to the milongas on my practice shoes? Or would it be better to change shoes at the milongas?

Thanks in advance for your comments.

Better to change at the milonga so that you don't track in dirt, pebbles, etc.

I have been to venues, both basketball and dance, that prohibited street shoes on the wood floor.

Also, some (most? all?) dance shoes are sponges for water, best to save them for indoor wear.

    Eeeek.

It's ok if you have 2x4AlPié shoes with removable soles.

I'd change shoes. Walking on the street can damage your dancing shoes quickly. It can wear away or destroy that nice, smooth surface of the sole you need.
