    Hello everyone,

One thing I've noticed about myself is that I'm really not very good at solo dancing. I'm not good at improvisation or creativity, so when it comes to solo dancing I typically end up just doing the Charleston for ages, or in solo jam circles I will stick to moves from the shim sham, etc. Does anybody have any tips for solo dancing, creativity, even musicality? I want to get better at this. Thank you!

One thing that can really help is thinking a rhythm in your head and trying to make that rhythm with your feet. You can pick a rhythm that is happening in the song in different instruments if you want.

Slight timing and rhythm variations can change basic steps into much more creative ones that makes solo dancing work much better.

I had a workshop weekend once were I did a solo jazz track and that kinda thing was the main things we worked on and I found it really helpful.
