From "The Modern Dances; How to Dance Them" by Caroline Walker (1914)
And we want to look foolish on the dance floor? :?
Definitely something to try out when I get into one of my odd moods!
I'm having trouble getting a visual on this one. What is it? Tango walks done in a figure eight pattern? Huh? :? I'm totally confused.
I think you basically walk in a circle, making the circle smaller and smaller as you go, until you are spinning in place with your partner.
I wonder if the Castle Walk is in the movie on them "Veron and Irene Castle" Sounds like an excuse for a movie night
almost 10 years later (this thread was started in 2004 ) I would like to ask if you could suggest some nice music for the Castle Walk
There is an off broadway musical right now that one of my students is in. It is called Castle Walk. Castlewalkmusical.com
Try checking its soundtrack for some good pieces.
Thank you Larinda
Tangentially related: I often use the Castle Walk as an introduction to Peabody for my students. In particular the step-out and the difficult step-out, as taught on the Dance Through Time: Ragtime Era DVD.
