    Judging senior events

Holy crap. That Senior was a straight final, but in it you had the long-time US Senior I champions, the reigning and former Senior II champions, two Blackpool finalists, and I could keep going on with the national and international creds. But even if none of that were true, it is one of the...

    Blackpool 2012

I don't believe the list is published in advance, but you can call the organizer and ask, and now that entries are closed they will give you the list.

    2012 USA Dance Nationals

Yep, and the parents in question won a second time on appeal. In a sad corollary: the Icelandic nationals were cancelled as a result of this. Based on the court decisions, the local WDSF organization would have had to let the banned kids dance; however, they either were explicitly threatened...

    2012 USA Dance Nationals

No clue, most of this is not public information.

    2012 USA Dance Nationals

Could be. Bans right now seem to be about 6-9 months, so it would depend a lot on timing. Also note that the ban might be for one event, but if you go on and do another, you might end up banned again.

    2012 USA Dance Nationals

Presumably the next highest placed couples who (a) aren't banned and (b) have the right passport status (i.e. at least one of the partners holds a US passport, which is a WDSF requirement for attending Worlds).

    2012 USA Dance Nationals

Can't say for sure how many, but a number of the missing couples have done WDC-AL or other banned events, and may have just decided to stay out of anything WDSF related even though USA Dance is not enforcing WDSF bans domestically.

    Usadance membership terminated from NDCA

And WDSF has now added its own pro-am division, though they call it teacher-student. USA Dance made a big announcement about it in one of their recent magazine issues. Which certainly muddies the waters even more...and conspiracy theorists may wonder why USA Dance would choose to highlight this...

    Usadance membership terminated from NDCA

Why? Because they don't post on Dance Forums? And the Dancesport VP of USA Dance does?

NDCA and Judges working outside of the NDCA

In a word, no. Not sure at all. But it would be suicidal for them if/when they have to stick with WDSF and ban NDCA comps, etc. for their members, and I'm sure they're well aware of this and are desperately trying to avoid it. The first email USA Dance sent on this same line a few months back...

    Usadance membership terminated from NDCA

I might also add, USA Dance emailed something essentially identical to this a few months ago. It's not news, though I think the stuff about adjudicators is an addition. I'm not sure what response NDCA is supposed to give to this, really, or if one is even required.

    Usadance membership terminated from NDCA

One small clarification for Competitors: dance wherever you want *in the US* and no *US* organization will bother you. WDSF, however, may, if you decide to do the "wrong" event overseas (e.g. any WDC-AL event, and most of the major UK comps except Blackpool for this year). So if you care about...

NDCA and Judges working outside of the NDCA

Note, however, that WDSF, as distinct from USA Dance, does indeed restrict adjudicators and has banned some for doing non-WDSF sanctioned events. So on the world level WDSF is reserving to itself the same rights that folks are angry at NDCA for enforcing here in the US.

Australian Dance Champions ejected from Nationals for wearing Freedom to Dance sash

Don't remember the thread, but I'm fairly sure money and power battles are at the root of most of this, cynic that I am. And just to further muddy the waters, WDSF has now added their own pro-am division, so now we've got two--or more--of everything. Is there such a thing as pro-am in any...
