    Vince, All I can say is...Albert is in Michigan...along with me and dancindude of course. Jenn, Dancindude and I are extremely fortunate to study with Albert Tailleur one of the best pros on our circuit. If he happens to be going to any of the Orlando events next year I'll let you...

    AnnieMarie and DancinDude Results are in :)

    The reality check Today we had the post event "video review session." Always a fun time. Lots of corrections lots of homework to do in the next week before we compete in Nashville over Labor Day weekend. So much for resting on our laurels :) Of course Albert told us that we actually...

    AnnieMarie and DancinDude Results are in :)

    Howdy everyone, Well after a long, and tiring weekend...I'm here to report in. I'm sure Ron will report in later. We arrived in Chicago late Friday morning and checked in and hung out for a while. Friday night was spent cheering on our friends who were competing in Friday night...

    Hey Ya'll

    DancinDude and I are working our way into Waltz. I know we will be working on it after Nashville, if not starting in the next week or two. I am doing waltz with my Pro. Ron and I compete together as an amateur couple as well as doing ProAm. Obviously we don't dance enough. LOL.

    Hey Ya'll

    Hi Everyone, I know it's been awhile but DancinDude and I have been working hard to prepare for this weekends competition in Chicago. As usual we feel fantastically...not prepared. Which seems to be the usual feeling right before a comp. I am just happy that both of us are up and...

    Checking In..

    Hi Everybody, Yes...for reasons beyond my control I will no longer be checking in during the day. Ron always passes along the really important stuff though. Practices are intense to say the least. Of course...would I be happy if I wasn't getting pushed...probably not. I don't always...

    How many hours have you danced this week?

    Zero hours for me this week...and probably next week too. That's what I get for hurting my ankle at the end of last week. :( Since having to spend lots of time on the couch at home last weekend...I realized there really isn't much on TV. No wonder I love to dance so much. Ann

    Country --> Ballroom. What gives?

    Yes...at least as far as couples...they are moving more and more toward ballroom type formats. I think in an effort to make things more clearly defined.

    Country --> Ballroom. What gives?

    Change I am referring too • Pro-Am Newcomer: The current Newcomer Step List will be suspended immediately in favor of the Couples Newcomer Rules. Instead of a Step List, we will develop a true multi-level (Bronze, Silver, Gold) Country Dance teaching syllabus, complete with paperwork and...

    Country --> Ballroom. What gives?

    Sorry everyone. This is brand new. Currently we just have a "step list" for the newcomer/novice levels. My understanding is that the "syllabus" program is going to more clearly define and develop concepts beyond this beginner level. Right now in the UCWDC I believe this will only apply to...

    Country --> Ballroom. What gives?

    Kitty, Right now there is no "syllabus." Bronze, silver, and gold syllabus"..at least for Pro/Am is in the process of being developed. This is a change from the "step list" format currently in place. Ann

    Country --> Ballroom. What gives?

    Chris, They aren't separated like they are on the ballroom circuit. We mix the "moves." That's the best way I can put it. I haven't studied ballroom so I couldn't tell you what is "American" and what is "International." I just know that we mix them together.

    Country --> Ballroom. What gives?

    There are *some* distinctive aspects to competitive Country Western Dance. For Example Cha Cha...is a mix of International and American style. I don't get to watch as much ballroom stuff as would like so it's hard to compare. I know we do lots and lots and lots and lots of spins and turns...
