    Gilley's in Texas

Wow, this has not been my experience at all. Granted, we get there early and leave when the floor gets too full of overly served dancers. There are some good dancers that go there because they do have good dance lessons, the house band is great and they have good well known live bands on...

    Mixing country with formal ballroom

This is a fun excersize. I have played in a "big band" and I have been running two step songs through my head and arranging them for that sound. One that may work if you have a stand up bass or electric bass to carry the bass line is "Pop a Top" by Alan Jackson.....sounds good in my head...

    Mixing country with formal ballroom

It would be hard to beat a good waltz as it could be enjoyed by both ballroom and country dancers. A couple that come to mind are Husbands and Wives by Brookes and Dunn and Could I Have This Dance by Anne Murray.

    How do you shuffle?

Cowboydancer, One thing to look for in the progressive Double Two that is different, is that it takes up less of a "footprint" on the dance floor than the others and can be danced more easily on a crowded floor. In fact I have seen it danced in place when movement on the floor has stopped.

    Las Vegas Dancehalls?

Steve, Thank you for the review and touching story. Wonderful memories of the ones we love are part of the legacy they leave with us. We will be celebrating our wedding anniversary during this trip so low key or high key I am sure we will enjoy the dancing and the memories we will create.

    Las Vegas Dancehalls?

Thanks for the info Steve. Did you get to Toby Keith's bar at Harrah's? We will be staying at Harrah's and were hoping that would be a good place to go also.

    Las Vegas Dancehalls?

My wife and I will be in Las Vegas in a couple of weeks and was wondering if anyone has any updates for good places to dance there. With the rodeo finals in town it should be hopping.

"Hold me in your arms" What dance goes with this song?

:uplaugh:Lol Vince, the possibility of that song coming up in a twostep competition is about as likely as the sasquatch body in the freezer being real!!!!!!

"Hold me in your arms" What dance goes with this song?

My partner and I dance an easy paced two step or double two/triple two to this song. We prefer the triple two with the rhythm of this song.

    What's Your Favorite Dance?

Waltz tho few waltzes are played by bands or DJs. Double two or Triple two step for fun dancing at the bars. Slow three step in shadow holding my love close is by far my favorite.

What songs should a band learn?

I live in East Texas and dance from Ft. Worth to Shreveport. The dance floor always fills up when a slow romantic song is played. It seems in this area most of the guys dance the three step and like to hold the girls close. The ladies just want to dance and will dance to anything they are...

    Julianna Hough - singer?

The video is being played on the country western television channels and is very good. She could do very well in the music business. She is "no" Miranda but has her own style and good in her own right.

    Adapting C2S Moves to CW

To use 2 step moves in waltz you can break it down this way. The 123 steps in waltz are the same as the QQ steps and the 456 steps are the same as the SS steps. For example, a basic pattern in 2 step is from closed position you turn the follower out to the left on the QQ, take the follower...
