    2007 Boston University Competition

Good luck to all of you dancing and all of you running the comp. I am sure you can run it smoothly. As I said last year, it might be worth making it a two day event, but I guess we'll see how it goes this year. Hope people won't be too dissapointed about not having a show. Good luck!!!!

    2006 Harvard Beginner's Competition

Just a reminder BU's $35 charge included a $10 fee for the show ticket.. Plus there are not that many beginners at that point in the year to differentiate prices.

College style ballroom social parties in the Boston area

I would not say that Extreme Dancesport caters to the BU team. They cater the college community as a whole. Given their location, the studio is very close to both Harvard and MIT, however you can hardly see people from those schools at a social there. Honestly I don't know why. BU team is the...

    New College Clubs

Couple pointers: 1. When you start a club you need to know whether you would like to be a social or competitive club. 2. Are you going to quantity or quality? Are you going to try to recruit as many people as possible or get the most dedicated who will stay longer and put the money and effort...

    Collegiate comps - North East

Well first of all out team consists of latin couples only (well may be we have one standard couple). And we also found that latin shows are just more popular with general crowd.

WhiteChaCha: "Yes. And dancetiger, I'm afraid she makes a lot of mistakes. But this diversion probably amounts to hijacking this thread so I will desist." Any suggestions for a new MC for the next year?

    Collegiate comps - North East

Anna: "Mirko Gozzoli and Alessia Betti " I am afraid that BU Comp organizer will stick to a latin couple. So any suggestions for a latin couple for the show? (May be I should tell Katie to start a new thread on this) It's sad that weather stops people from coming to good competitions :(

    Collegiate comps - North East

White ChaCha: "Well, I thought it was just OK. I enjoyed the show  I don't recall how much the open dancers got abused, but in syallabus there were issues getting the heat sizes right. That's not so unusual for collegiate comps but combined with scolding from the MC that it was the...
